I am saddened by this loss. Mr. Shaughnessy was a great man. He is a big reason I was able to finish schooling. Having special needs if you will,Mr. Shaughnessy always believed in me and had a special gift of knowing how to connect with his students. I will be forever grateful for his endless patience and support. Rest in peace

I was so sorry to hear about Ed. I loved playing with him and the other seniors first thing in the morning, and competing with him during the Ralph Parsons Labor Day at NCC. He is in my prayers....

My deepest condolences to Mr. Shaughnessy's family and friends. He was my favorite, I'm sure a lot of us Smith Voc. students can say that. Graduating many, many years ago, he always remembered me and always had a smile. Rest in peace Mr. Shaughnessy, your legacy will live on forever.

Ed was a true educator totally committed to the growth and success of his kids. During my years at Hopkins Academy Ed was a valuable contributor to our Western Mass contingent of administrators standing up for small school values. Energetic, funny, knowledgeable and down to earth, he will be missed but lives on in his students and colleagues.
