Westfield , MA - William H. James, 71, passed away on August 9, 2025, in Westfield, Massachusetts.
Born on September 4, 1953, in Greenfield, Massachusetts, Bill attended Greenfield public schools and spent his early years in the community that shaped much of his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his brother Stanborn James and sister Caroline Demers, both of Turners Falls, and his sister Camilla Berry (Russ) of Warwick, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Stanborn M. and Bertha A.(Gosslin) James of Greenfield; as well as his brothers Rene James (Carol) and Peter James (Joan), both of Turners Falls.
Bill was employed by Barker Steel, and later in life he worked in maintenance at NEX.
Bill had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He enjoyed reading and was often found with a book in hand. Long walks with the family dog, Bella, his love for animals was evident to all who knew him. Bill was a lifelong sports enthusiast.
A private family memorial will be held to honor Bill's life.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

Bill always had a big smile and a friendly hello whenever I ran into him. His love of reading amazed me. Always walking and yes with the family dog beside him. Stan, Caroline and Louise may you keep the many memories of good times close in heart.
