Frederick Kolodziej

Easthampton, MA - Frederick R. Kolodziej, 90, of 40 Division Street, Easthampton, died peacefully in the early morning hours of September 18, 2025. He was born in Adams MA on Sept. 14, 1935, the son of Henry and Celia (Pliska) Kolodziej. At the age of 2 he was sent to the New England Peabody Home for Crippled Children in Newton MA, where he lived until the age of 14. At that time he returned home to Adams to live with his family. He moved to Easthampton MA in 1955 to start a career in manufacturing, where he worked until his retirement. His last position was a machine operator at Tubed Products.

He was a musician and member of several bands over the years, including the Northern Lights and Freddy Cole and The Cadillac Cowboys. They were well known in the area, and Northern Lights had a record that hit the charts. He also enjoyed sports, and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan. He loved snowmobiling with his family, and was a long term member of The Burgy Bullets and later the Goshen Highlanders.

He leaves his 2 sons and their wives; Jeffrey and his wife Johanna of Westhampton, and Timothy and his wife Dawn of Stafford Springs CT . He leaves one brother; Robert Kolodziej of CT. He leaves a step-son Aaron Hayes of Southampton, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He and his wife Jackie loved cats, and had many over the years. He leaves his beloved cat Skeeter.

He is predeceased by his son Steven, and grandson Steven, his wife Jacqueline, his 1st wife Mary, and siblings Raymond, Loretta, Dorothy, and Charles (killed in action during WWII).
