MECHANICVILLE - On October 25, 2025, George Weber, 78, of N. Main St., went home to be with the Lord. Originally from Albany, George moved eight years ago to Mechanicville to be closer to his family.
Born in Albany, July 14, 1947, son of the late George and Charlotte Dixon Weber; predeceased by his loving wife of 19 years, Diane St. Clair Weber, in 1990; and his sister, Mary Ann; and Craig Wolcott.
George worked at the Stratton VA Hospital for 45 years, serving in the operating room Environmental services unit, retiring in 2013. George loved to read and watch his favorite shows, relaxing in his recliner.
Survivors include his daughter, Carol Ann (John II) Moriarty, of Mechanicville; their sons, John Patrick (Carlie) Moriarty, of Saratoga Springs, and Liam (Jenn) Moriarty, of Mechanicville; daughter, Debra Weber-Brown, of Albany; her daughters, Angelina (Stephanie), and Dakota Brown, of Selkirk; and a brother, John (Cindy) Weber, of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.
Although George was a super quiet man, he wanted to express many thanks to all the staff at Hospice, the day to day nursing staff Tara, Heather, Colleen, Geri, Marsh, Jeanette and the calming voices who answered the call, no matter the time of day, all of your hard work never went unnoticed. Thank you all that helped through his transition home to the Lord. Also First Baptist Church of So. Glens Falls for your prayers and strength that was given to him and his family.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, with burial to follow at St. Agnes Rural Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave., Menands. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Hospice Care, 45 New Karner Rd., Albany, 12205.
