Donald Richard Ager

Hillsboro, NH - Donald R. Ager, of Hillsboro, NH, born March 26, 1934 in Racine, WI, passed away peacefully December 19 at home, surrounded by his immediate family. He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Mabel (Meg) R. Ager, his four sons Donald Jr. (Karen), Alan (Jean), David (Martha), and Todd. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and 2 brothers, 2 sisters. In addition to his great joy as the patriarch of a large, loving family, Donald had a passion for trading Lions Club pins in this country and abroad.

Donald lived a life of service to others. Donald served in the US Navy for 21 years, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer (CTACS), and also retiring from the US Postal service after 19 years. After his federal service, Donald was an active member of many organizations including the Hillsboro Lions Club (PCC, Progressive Melvin Jones and serving as a District Governor), the American Legion, The Loyal Order of the Moose (Pilgrim degree), the VFW, the Fleet Reserve Association, the Boy Scouts of America.

A celebration of life will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hillsboro Lions Club, PO Box 592, Hillsboro, NH 03244, or the American Legion Post 59, 538 W. Main St., Hillsboro, NH 03244.
