Christie S. Ellinwood Jr., known to all as "Chris" and to childhood family as "Tim," passed away peacefully with family by his side on December 20, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Keene, NH on August 17, 1939, Chris lived a full life marked by hard work, dedication to his community, and an unwavering commitment to his family.

Chris loved a big job almost as much as he loved his family. When someone needed help tackling one, you could count on him to show up, build up morale, add a touch of humor, and get it done. This spirit of service defined his character and touched countless lives throughout his community.

Chris served his country with honor in the United States Army, stationed in El Paso, Texas, and overseas in Germany. His dedication to service extended to his professional life, where he was a volunteer firefighter for Antrim, NH and worked at Country Craftsman, Gates Incorporated in Peterborough, Arcomm Communications and Osram Sylvania in Hillsborough, where he remained until his retirement. He was also a 50+ year member of the Freemasons and the American Legion.

Perhaps most remarkable was Chris's lifelong commitment to Maplewood Cemetery in Antrim, where he worked from the age of 16 until this year-a testament to nearly seven decades of devoted service to his community. Through this work, he helped countless families honor their loved ones with dignity and care.

Chris faced his battle with ALS with the same courage and determination that defined his life, never letting it diminish his commitment to his family and community.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Albertine (Carpenter) Ellinwood of Hillsborough; his children Tyler Ellinwood, Timmy Ellinwood, Angel (Ellinwood) Wahl of California, Kevin Ellinwood, Melissa Ellinwood Smith, and Aaron Ellinwood of New Hampshire; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy; his brother John Ellinwood of Port Angeles, Washington; his cousin Sandy Stowe of New Hampshire; and the Lawlors from Vermont.

He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Shapiro of Monrovia, California.

In accordance with Chris's wishes, there will be no formal service. The family will host a celebration of his life this summer, where friends and family can gather to share stories and remember a man who never met a big job he couldn't tackle or a family member he wouldn't help.
