Magdalena Jobst Obituary

MAGDALENA JOBST

South Deerfield, MA - Magdalena "Blondie/Bonnie" Jobst (Wroblewski), 89, of South Deerfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at home.

Born on July 8, 1936, to Alexsander and Teofila Wroblewski, in South Deerfield, where Bonnie was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Deerfield High School, 1954, where she excelled as a softball player. She devoted many years to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom. Later in life, she began a new career as a Supervisor in the Dining Commons at the University of Massachusetts, where she was dedicated to her work.

Bonnie was the proud mother of Jeffrey (Pamela), Michael (Debbie), Tina, and Anton Jr. (Diane). She was preceded in death by Tony her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, her son James, and her granddaughter Jennica, 3 brothers Lewis, Alec and Edward Wroblewski, 4 sisters Jean Rediker, Rose Paquette, Helen Pomeroy, and Edi Drumgool. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren-Evan, Dane, and Cody-and her great-grandchildren Penelope, Francesca, Shay, Maverick, Jack, and Josephine. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Zeebie and grand dog Charlie.

Bonnie was a lifelong member of the former Saint Stanislaus Church in South Deerfield. Her faith shaped her values and daily life.

Bonnie loved gardening, filling her home with colorful flowers. She took pride in tending to each of her gardens and watching her birds. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to her; she delighted in hosting BBQs and pool parties filled with laughter and home-cooked meals. She was very proud of her Polish heritage, which was reflected in her cooking of Polish meals. She also loved Polka dancing with her husband and spent many evenings out enjoying Polish music. She cherished family vacations to Maine and was an enthusiastic Boston Celtics Fan for years.

Many thanks to her caretakers for their devoted care and compassion: Sandy, Linda, Sharon, Barbara, and Tammy. The family extends their appreciation to the Overlook/Care Central Visiting Nurses Association and Cooley Dickinson Hospice.

On January 17, 2026, a calling hour will be held at Wrisley Funeral Home from 9:00 -10:30 am followed by an 11 am Mass at Holy Family Church in South Deerfield. A reception will follow the Mass at Pope John Paul II Center. A graveside service will be held in the spring to honor Bonnie's life.

Bonnie Jobst will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the traditions she nurtured across the generations. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friends of the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter, Inc. 10 Sandy Lane, Turners Falls MA 01376.

My brothers, my wife, and my daughters all have the fondest memories of our Aunt Blondie, whenever we came to visit family in Massachusetts. She was warm, caring, and a joy to be around. We are sorry for her passing, but know she has enriched all our lives.

In her honor, we will be donating to the Friends of Franklin County Dog Shelter.

God's Peace, Gary

Jeff, I am so sorry to hear that your mother has passed away. I hope once the grief is over that memories will bring a smile to your face. Sorry I will miss the service as I am in Florida on a road trip.
