BARTELS, Kenneth

Kenneth J. Bartels, age 91, of Dayton, Ohio passed away at Kettering Health Dayton on January 09, 2026. He was born on October 10, 1934, in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Elsa and John Bartels. Aside from his parents Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Opal (Wones) Bartels; Max Wones; Wayne and Sharon Wones; Barbara and Norman Jauss; Marlene and Cliff Loomis. He is survived by Sister-in-Law Beverly Wones and her families; Wayne and his families; Nieces; Bonnie, Diane, Mindy, Nephews; Mark, Ron, Dean, Eric, and numerous Great Nieces and Nephews. Kenneth was a gifted piano player without even being able to read music. Alongside his love for the piano, he enjoyed hunting and woodcarving, in which he was very accomplished. Kenneth was a lifelong member and supporter of New Apostolic Church in Dayton, Ohio. Kenneth was a Freemason over 68 years and was retired from the Montgomery County Coroners Office where he worked as a Pathologist Assistant for 30 years. A visitation will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, located at 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Dayton, OH 45432, on January 15, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at the same venue, starting at 11:00 am. The burial will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, located at 11890 N Dixie Dr, Tipp City, OH 45371, on January 15, 2026. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Apostolic Church (www.nac-usa.org), the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, ASPCA, or Wounded Warriors
