Donald D. Drescher

Boscawen, NH - Donald Dean Drescher passed peacefully after a courageous battle with dementia.

Born in Concord, New Hampshire, Don was raised in Bow and later made his home in Contoocook with his former wife, Diane. He built a life grounded in hard work and curiosity.

Don is survived by his son, Jeremy and his wife Betty of Merrimack; his daughter, Theresa Adamakos, and her husband, Peter, of Manchester; and his granddaughters, Alexandra and Christina Adamakos, also of Manchester. He is also survived by his sister, Jayne Schoch of Contoocook, as well as several nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his sister, Judy Call, and his brother, Richard Drescher.

A graduate of Concord High School, Don proudly served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician. He later earned a degree from the Concord Vocational Technical School. Don spent 20 years working for Northern Telecom in Concord as a field service technician for telephone equipment, a career that allowed him to travel the world and experience places far beyond New Hampshire.

A true jack of all trades, Don had an exceptional ability to fix or build just about anything. What began as a passion for problem-solving grew into his own business, Don Drescher Renovation and Restoration Services, which he operated successfully for more than 20 years.

Don was an avid hunter and fisherman who treasured the lifelong memories made in the outdoors with friends and with his son, Jeremy. He also had a deep love for classic cars, once owning a 1966 Chevy Nova. That passion became a special bond he shared with Jeremy, traveling together to two Indy 500 races and attending classic car auctions both locally and across the country - a love that Jeremy has carried with him since childhood.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 12th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord, New Hampshire.
