Francesco Rosano Obituary

Francesco Rosano

Boscawen, NH - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francesco "Frank" S. Rosano at the age of 89 on January 23, 2026 from a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born September 27, 1936 to Giustiniano and Maria (Mary) (De Cristofaro) in San Sossio Baronia, Italy. His father died when he was 6 months old and in 1951, his mother and he emigrated to the United States moving to Concord where she married Tony Iula. Frank attended St. John's School graduating in 1956.

After graduating high school Frank enrolled in the United States Navy until 1960. He then worked for the State of NH, Department Safety where he retired after 37 years as Equipment Control Supervisor in 1997. He was very well known in the Department, he called everyone "buddy" and his nickname was "Frankie." He worked at the Olive Garden in Manchester for a short time as their greeter after retirement and helped his son maintain numerous rental buildings in Manchester. He was involved in the Republican party in Concord and ran for State Representative and School Board a few times.

He is survived by his three children, Imma Dogru of Manchester, Frank Rosano of Concord, and Sherry Rosano of Hopkinton; former son-in-law Jon Bradstreet of Hillsborough; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and step father, and wife Linda Rosano (Mitchell).

Frank was an outgoing, friendly person who made friends wherever he went. After he retired he loved taking all of his friends to lunch and bringing them flowers and vegetables from his garden. He loved to garden and would spend all day outside in the yard; as well as cooking and won best apple pie at the Concord Coop. He enjoyed watching the birds; hunting and fishing; coin and stamp collecting; and had a train set in the basement. He and Linda were also known for their New Year's Eve parties.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Merrimack County Nursing Home (SCU Unit) for taking care of Frank over the past few years, as well as Granite VNA hospice staff.

Cremation services were provided by Bennett Funeral Home of Concord. No services will be held. In the spring Frank will be interred at the State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frank's honor to the following organizations: Pope Memorial SPCA in Concord; NH Audubon Society; or Alzheimer's Association.

RIP Frank. My condolences to your loving family. I have been out of state since December, but was thinking of you today. You were everyone´s friend and respected by many. I worked with you at DOS at have also been one of your many caregivers at the MCNH. I would tell everyone that you "ran" the DOS, because you pretty much did. I´m blessed to have known you for many years. You are now at peace and we will meet again.

Frankie was a neighbor on what was then called High Street in Concord. I remember when he came from Italy. Although I had not seen him since our school days I am saddened by his passing. My condolences to his family.
