Yvette Bissell Obituary

Yvette M. (Paul) Bissell

MONTAGUE, MA - On January 30, 2026, Yvette "Fluff" (Paul) Bissell – a beloved wife, and cherished cousin, friend, aunt, and godmother – left us too soon, having gifted us a legacy of love and generosity. Born on October 4, 1953, to Lillian and Gilbert Paul, she attended St. Anne's School and Turners Falls High School. While there, she won an award predicting success in her future employment as a respected administrative assistant.

After graduation, Yvette earned her degree at Greenfield Community College while working part-time at Barrett & Baker. She remained there for several years, then moved to H.A. Manning Co., and finally accepted an administrative position at Roy B. Chapin/Romano, Pascucci & Co., where she worked for 23 years. Yvette excelled at people skills so starting at an early age, she happily volunteered wherever she could meet and help others.

Although she was an only child, Yvette grew up in a close-knit extended family. From those early family gatherings, she developed a lifelong love of all multi-generational celebrations. In addition, Yvette loved swimming and water games, she played tennis better than most, and she enjoyed downhill skiing.

In 1974, Yvette met Bob Bissell, who became the love of her life. The couple married in 1982. They discovered a mutual love of the ocean, beginning on Cape Cod before finally settling on Ogunquit, Maine as their slice of heaven on earth. Yvette had a knack for making people feel special; she was known for sending greeting cards that reminded friends and family that she was thinking of them. Her thoughtfulness, easy smile, warmth and genuine interest in others will leave an empty place in many hearts.

"Fluff's" family will receive guests on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA from 9:15AM until 9:45AM, to be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00AM, with Rev. Fr. Stanley J. Aksamit, Pastor, as the Celebrant. Inurnment will take place in St. Anne's Cemetery, Turners Falls, MA at a later date and time.

Donations in Yvette's memory may be made in lieu of flowers to: the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or Franklin County Community Meals Program, PO Box 172, Greenfield, MA 01302

I have known Fluff since I was a little girl when my Mom used to work with her at Roy B. Chapin's. Since getting married in 1993, having my first daughter in 2000 and second in 2005, Fluff has sent anniversary and birthday cards EVERY year. Each card indicated which anniversary or birth year it was. She was an amazingly kind person and I loved running into her and Bob from time to time at sporting events in Turners or random community events. May she forever RIP.

I've know Fluff since I was a little girl. My grandfather worked at Roy B. Chapin/Romano, Pascucci & Co. A lot of time I was working on reports and I would need photo copies of things and while we visited my grandfather, Fluff would make the copies for me. She was always smiling. Later on in my life, when my mom was sick and I happened to run into her she always asked about my mom and my grandparents. Then when I had my daughter she always asked how she was doing. She remembered so much about our family. She was just a beautiful person inside and out. You will be sorely missed. My condolences to Bob and the rest of her family

As a high school classmate of Fluff, I remember she always had a smile on her face and such goodness in her heart. The Class of TFHS `71 was better because of her presence. Rest in peace.

From the time that 22 years ago, Fluff and Bob (who never let me call them Mr and Mrs Bissell) came to visit my wife and I and our first child in the hospital, she never failed to ask how the family was doing.
One of my favorite things was bumping into her at stop & shop where one of her truly genuine and compassionate hugs would turn a mundane shopping trip into something that impacted my week for the better.
My prayers and those of my family are with Fluff and her family. Eternal rest grant unto her oh Lord and let Your perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Fluff was one of the first people I met at GCC, and she became one of my best friends. We had so much fun there and still managed to graduate. Over the years she always remembered birthday cards and anniversary cards. May God bless you. I will miss you Helen.

I'm truly sorry to hear of Fluff's passing. I'll never seeing Fluff at church. I had brought my, at the time, 5 month old. I will never forget her comment about how good he was during mass and how happy he was. Ever since then, I would run into her here and there and she always asked about my boys. He smile and hugs will be truly missed. My thought and prayers are with Bob and family during this sad time. RIP Fluff

I am so sad to see this. A long time friend from school days. Me Greenfield, Yvette Turners. Friendly rivals.
Yvette was such a sweet, friendly person who always had a beautiful smile. She always recognized me first and always spoke to me when we´d run into each other. Not often but I
Always was amazed she recognized me from afar. As I said, I am very sorry to see this. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones. My very Deepest Condolences.
