WILLIAMSBURG, MA - Victor F. Caputo III, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the age of 45. Born on August 2, 1980, in Northampton, Massachusetts, Vic lived a life marked by service, dedication, and deep love for his family and community.

Son of Denise (St. Onge) Caputo and the late Victor Caputo Jr., Vic grew up in Williamsburg and carried with him a strong sense of duty and commitment throughout his life. He graduated from Smith Vocational High School and earned two master's degrees from Westfield State University, one in Criminal Justice and another in Public Administration with a focus on Criminal Justice, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in law enforcement.

Vic began his policing career with the Ashfield and the Williamsburg Police Departments. He spent the majority of his professional life with the Northampton Police Department, where he served for over 20 years and retired with the rank of Captain. He was an instructor with the Autism and Law Enforcement Education Coalition (ALEC), where he trained First Responders to foster a deeper understanding of autism. He also served as the Advisory Board Chair for the Public Safety Program at Smith Vocational High School.

In addition, Vic was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. From 1998 to 2007, he served with TOW Plt., HQCO, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division, where he attained the rank of sergeant. During his military service he was deployed twice in support of the Global War on Terrorism. In 2002 he was at Camp Lejeune, NC. for approximately five months. His second deployment was from 2005 to 2006 to Camp Fallujah in Al Anbar Province, Iraq as part of a Provisional Military Police Company.

Vic was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his sense of humor. In his free time, he enjoyed canning pickles, geocaching, flying drones, being an amateur radio operator, and camping with friends and family.

Above all else, Vic was devoted to his family. He was husband to Luann (Duso) Caputo and a proud and loving father to Julia Caputo. He is survived by his mother Denise (St. Onge) Caputo, sister Angelina Church and her husband Jonathan; and their daughters Deana Frew-Church and Kiarra Church. He also leaves behind his father-in-law Arthur Duso, brother and sister-in-law Greg and Donna Sicard, his niece Nicole Sicard and her partner Seth Powers and their daughter Brooklyn, as well as his nephew Tony Sicard and wife Cristina and their daughter Wrenly.

Family and friends may gather for calling hours on Wed., Feb 18th from 4:00-6:00pm at the AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton. A private Funeral service and burial with USMC Military Honors will be held at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. Agawam.
