After they moved to Concord, I remember Merwyn and Carol from my childhood as friends of my parents, Lea and David Stark. Later, he operated on my mother for an aneurysm and gave her many years of life.
Merwyn was a kind and steadying presence for me and my sister Kim at our mother's bedside after her stroke at age 80.
He was a warm, generous and brilliant man, and I am grateful to have known him.
Carol, Ralph and I hope to catch up with you to share some private thoughts. For now, we send you our love.

Merwyn gave my beloved wife Alice more than 20 years of active life when it looked like paralysis was her future. We were in the middle of my campaign for NH Senate and Alice wore her button into surgery . . . it came back out on Dr. Bagan's surgical gown when he told me that the operation had been a success! I will always be grateful.

I worked with Dr. Bagan at the Elliot. I loved his pince nez! Bedside manner-not- but an excellent surgeon-my pick had I ever needed one!! He definitely had a fulfilling life!

A true gentleman. Kind, considerate, thoughtful. I am glad, honored, that crossed paths with him while on the board of FIENS. An example of what a neurosurgeon should be. Warmest condolences to the family

Dear Bagan family, I was so privileged to have Dr. Bagan do the very needed surgery that 6 other doctors dismissed back in 1983. What a very lovely man. I am forever grateful.

I met Merwyn only about 9 years ago. From the moment I met him & his dear wife I knew they were beautiful souls. The world is missing a man who made a world of difference just being here. Hugs to his family, many friends & patients who's lives are better because of him.

I have fond memories of Dr Bagan at Sacred Heart and CMC. As student nurses, we were in awe of him and he was always willing to explain procedures and answer questions. A brilliant physician and a very nice man.

Merwyn was a dear friend of many years, always with a hat and a smile especially when Munchkin would join him on the coach. He could be serious and stern when needed but he also had a great laugh. I will miss him. My sympathy and love go to his family.

What can you say about a man that saved your life not only once, but twice? I am and have always been indebted to Dr. Bagan for allowing me to live so far for 67 years from the age of 13 when he first cared for me. The doctor/patient relationship evolved into he and his family being close friends with mine. The deepest regret that I have is that I did not visit him sooner as he passed the day before my planned visit. He was a remarkable man in so many ways and I will forever be thankful to him. G_d Bless and thank you.

I worked for Emergency Services of Central NH Community Mental Health Services in the 1970's, as a psychologist, and I was in the ER a few days a week between 5:00 and 9:00Pm. One night a young man was brought in that had been shot in the head during a hunting accident. Dr. Bagan asked me if I wanted to watch the surgery and I did. I stood behind him and watched him delicately remove the bullet fragments. It was a special treat and he was a special doctor as almost all the doctors were back then. I remember that he always came to the ER in a 3 piece suit and a small satchel of his testing instruments. The ER staff would announce in utmost support, 'here comes Merwyn the magician' Condolences to Dr. Bagans family, friends and associates.

I was working second shift one night at Concord Hospital when I became worried about his patient who had had brain surgery. I called him around 9pm with my concerns and I remember seeing him bounding down the hill from his house to the hospital! He was a great doctor! He really cared!

Dr. Bagan was the absolute best neurosurgeon. He operated on my back twice in the mid to late 80s. My second surgery was right around Christmas and he promised to sign me out in time for Christmas. Christmas came and I mentioned to the nurses that he had promised I could go home for Christmas. He had not signed me out, so they called him and he came to the hospital on Christmas day in a 3-piece suit, white scarf and all, to honor his promise. I have never forgotten how nice and kind he was to me. Condolences to his family and I hope my experience made you smile.

Merwyn, my friend where do I start, we had many great times together. Fishing for Bass, cross country trips delivering furniture, delivering Audi curtains to downtown Brooklyn, delivering a huge box of medical equipment to Logan and many more.
Thank you for the privilege of working with you and Carol, preserving the Audi.
My friend you were the smartest person I've ever known, but your heart was even bigger. What I do know is that you have a gold pass to heaven, only God knows ALL the things you have done for Concord and the world.
I will miss you my dear friend and all my love to Carol, Seth, Karen and the rest of the gang.
I'll have a double scoop of chocolate chip.
