There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about Brad. He was one in a million. I wish I would have kept the last email I rec'd from him. It was when he was on the ship on the way to Iraq and he was bored. I really wish I would have kept that. But, Brad you will never be forgotten.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

Please contact me and I will email you back a copy of the

To the Shuder family;

Though I only met Brad a couple of times, I could tell by our first conversation that he was a great guy. His warm and friendly nature radiated from him with confidence and ease, making him very likeable. He could turn any dull occasion into a lively one. Already he is dearly missed, and though his life should never had ended so soon, we must remember that he put himself in harm's way to protect his family and country. For that, we shall always be grateful for his bravery and generousity, and we shall always remember his courage to let his true self dictate the man he grew into. Those who knew him may continue to adore him for his becoming charm, the nation shall be forever in debt for his sacrifice.

Thank you so much for giving him this treasured life.

Brad was the kind of person that made you feel lucky just to know him. He was a great cook, and an even better friend.

He was always there with a joke, a smile, a hug, or whatever you needed. I can't remember ever hearing him speak a harsh word to anyone, and I can't imagine that anyone could have found a harsh word to say to him.
