Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Daniel Lee Galvan US Army Sergeant.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,

The flag is flying in the sky
A daily reminder of who and why
We sit here remembering them today
These heroes that now lie in their grave.
While here on earth, the bravest ones
A soldier, a mother, a daughter, a son
The father's who went far off to war
To ensure our safety and so much more
To keep our children happy and free,
Someone must do this job, you see
So, today remember the soldiers who served,
Because this is one thing they truly deserve.
The loved one's that they have left behind,
The Gold Star mothers, like your and mine
We honor them proudly, every day
Our American Soldier...Proud and Brave
By Shannon Williams-Austill
I want to thank this soldier for their sacrifice.
And, I wish to extend my deepest regards to the loved ones they have left behind. Their service to our nation, has not gone unnoticed. They are our heroes, who paid the ultimate price for us, and that is something that every American needs to be reminded of and remember everyday.
The freedom we all have, we have because of brave young men and women who made a choice to defend and serve.
Today, let me remember your loved one with you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Follow The Rainbow To Heaven.
=======================================
A Soldier had die out on the
battlefield;
Broken hearts are weeping For
Them,
But take comfort of knowing
that God had sent Them a
rainbow from heaven;
The Souls of the Soldiers
have gone to there home
in heaven,
Our Loved One's has follow
God's lovely rainbow in the
sky;
All the way to the end of the
sky.
That leads all the way to the
other end of the Lord's
house in heaven,
So just keep on praying and
trust that God will send us
that same rainbow in the sky;
Where Our Loved One's are
waiting For You and For Me at
the end of the rainbow in
heaven.

I know there are no words to say, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. Joseph shall never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you and always will be.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
Every second you sacrificed
I hold you in my prayers.
So with one hand on my heart and the other in the air;
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say

The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Merry Christmas, my beautiful Son another Christmas has come and gone and I'm still here living them without you, it was always one of your very favorite holidays and it also meant that all of My Family would celebrate the Birth of Christ as a Whole Family.
MY Son your cousins SPC Jaime Galvan and SPC Natalie Galvan Manross and her husband SPC Robert Manross have safely returned from their 15 months of tour from Iraq and I know that it was the Hand of GOD on their shoulders, and YOU watching over them that brought them home safely to their families. Also the great leadership they had. We could not be happier for them and their families. I love you my beautiful son and I miss you so much. Time does not help to heal the pain of a Mother's loss of a child no matter what age and their will never be any moving on, not from me. I wait for the day to see you again and hug you. I know your grandma is there with you.

I am writing to let you know that even though it has been 3 years since SGT Galvan's death he is still thought of often. I was in his Battalion and knew him for a few years. I was the senior medic that took care of all of 2-25 aviation's soldiers. I actually saw him the day he flew out of Kandahar heading up north to salerno. I had borrowed some flight gear and had returned it back to him. While in afghanistan i flew MEDEVAC but was not the ones on the scene at his accident. I was priviledged enough though to have trained the soldiers of 2-25 aviation on combat lifesaving skills, that unfortunately could not help your son. Your son I am sure is thought of daily by other crewmembers as with me every time i fly...I make sure that all things are secured. SGT Galvan always had a smile on his face and I will always remember that about him. Take care and God be with you all.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Today would have been your 33rd birthday and who knows where you and your family would be stationed at this time but we do know it would have been a very Happy Birthday for you. We hope it would be somewhere beautiful. You always looked forward to your birthdays and now you must spend them all in "The Kingdom Of Heaven". Still not a day or a moment goes by that I don't wish this nightmare would go away. We all miss you and wish you were home. Life with out you will never, never be the same again and I will never move on from that dreadful day and never will I accept the terrible injustice of why you were taken from us. We miss you so much and you took a big part of me the day you were taken from us. I wait for the day I can see you again. Loving you as only parents can love a child taken from them so unjustly. You are a Honorable Soldier who would have stood up for his responsibility to any injustice done to another soldier. Loving you and missing you so much.

"Remembering"
Go ahead and mention my Son
You know, the one that was taken from us
Don't worry about hurting me further
The depth of the pain doesn't show
Don't worry about making me cry.
I'm already crying inside
Help to heal by releasing
The tears that I try to hide
I'm hurt when you just keep silent,
Pretending he didn't exist
I'd rather you mention him
Knowing that he has been missed
You asked me, how am I doing
I say "Pretty good" or "Fine"
But healing is something ongoing
I feel it will take a "LIFETIME"

To Danny's parents- I am so sorry for your loss. Your birthday letter truly brought tears to my eyes. If its any consolation it is obvious he felt the love in his too short life. I hope you can find some comfort in reading the entries here, and in remembering him. I know he will rest in peace as he has earned it.
He is not forgotten.

To Our Beloved Son:
Daniel, today we would have called you to wish you a "Happy Birthday", you would have been 32 years old and you would have told us, "Mom, Dad, I'm getting old" and our reply would have been "We don't care if you're eighty, you will always be our Baby". This should never have been. IF ONLY?
With deep gratitude we thank all of Daniel's family members, friends old and new who have written into Daniel's memorial web page. Thank you for being in his life, loving him and thinking of him. We are very proud of Daniel for who he was and is. Daniel, you will be in our HEARTS and THOUGHTS forever. We MISS YOU as only YOU and GOD know.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY"

Danny and I were childhood friends, I've thought of him ofton and I'm proud of what he had become. I remember him taking me to see the "Gummy man" when we were about 7 in Germany and playing in the snow in Washington when we were 5. I have a few photos of us for my memories. I will never forget him.Nelda and Earnest we love you both and I hold you dear in my heart.

I'm thinking of Daniel's loved ones and friends during this season of Easter, and the renewed life Spring brings. I truly believe the bonds of love can never be broken - not even by death, and though there is a period of separation right now, a day will come when you will be reunited with him again, and can spend eternity in the presence of the Creator, and with Daniel. May God keep His hand upon you and give you the reassurance that all is well with Daniel, and that by and by, you'll be with him again, and will never have to be parted. God bless all of you! Love and hugs,

To the Galvan family and Daniel's friends:
Though we've never met, I read Daniel's poignant Guest Book and watched the beautiful Tributes and felt compelled to write; I hope you find some small solace knowing that Daniel's sacrifice does not go unnoticed.
Even looking here at his photo, I cannot help but be humbled by those like Daniel, who put themselves in the face of danger for their brethren and their flag. There are many who hurt with you.
May his proud honor carry you through darkness, and may you find peace in your days.
A humble and grateful American

What can I say. Daniel is my oldest and best friend. I first meet Daniel at Hanscom AFB in sixth grade. He was the cool guy that everyone liked and wanted to be around. You should have seen this kid, with his spiked hair and pants that were pegged. Before then no one new what pegged pants were. But you can believe me after Daniel's arrival everyone was sporting pegged pants. Daniel was a true friend to me. We kept in touch through out his years, even when he was heading for Afgan. Before leaving he sent me a picture of him, Me and another child hood friend, from back in 8th grade,and he entitled it Friends for life. When we would end our emails we would sign off F4L.
This picture hangs on my main wall in my house and I look upon it often and talk with Daniel. As I write this letter it brings tears to my eyes.
I love you Daniel.

Daniel...my long lost brother.. I just found out today what happened to you. I can remember all those times hanging out at the mall, staying the night at each others house, going to the movies, sneaking out every now and then ;)Seems like only yesterday you, jason and i were hanging out in your back yard talking about life, dreams, and just shooting the breeze. the three of us used to be pretty tight, always there for each other when one needed it. I will forever remember you as being charismatic, funny, witty, caring, and a real best friend. I am lucky to have had a best friend like you, and i am deeply saddened that you and i will never ever be able to hang out again and talk about the "good ole days." Mr. and Mrs. Galvan- my sincerest apologies to you,erica and ernesto. You son was a great person, i am proud to have known him. And to Daniel's wife and kids....my condolonsces, my heart goes out to you as i know you guys know how great Daniel was. you will forever be missed. Rest in peace my brother,

"To Our Beloved Son, Daniel
"A Letter to Heaven"
We miss you so,
since you've been gone,
although we know
your spirit lives on,
And we'd like to think,
when we see the stars shine,
that one of them
is your spirit guiding ours.
we pray that our treasure
of sweet memories
will help our tears
and sorrow to ease...
Until that day, when
reborn and clear-sighted,
We'll be with you in heaven,
forever reunited.
Christmas without you is just not the same for us anymore. You are dearly loved and missed with every breathe we take and every beat of our heart's. Guide us.

I never met Daniel in person but through photos and stories from his sister, Erica, I grew to know him and what a wonderful person he was. I want you to know that he is a hero. I deeply appreciate and love what all service men and women do to protect our country's freedom. (My husband is also in the military.) Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. May the Lord comfort you during this trying time and give you peace and understanding. With Love, Jan McClay

My family and I are so saddened by Daniel's death and want all of his family to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I cannot pretend to understand what you are going through, and wish there was some way to convey the depth of my sorrow for his loss, and for the grief you are now experiencing. I only met Daniel once, but know through his sister Erica what a fine, wonderful man and family person he was. Sonya - even though you don't know me, I want you to know I truly relate to what you are experiencing because I also lost my husband prematurely. Stay close to God, and He will somehow get you through. To Daniel's parents and siblings, I pray you will find strength from the love I know so many are expressing to you now. I know that Daniel was a son and brother to be proud of, both because of his character and his dedication and service to our country. May God hold you all in the palm of His hand and comfort you with the peace that passes all understanding.
