I met Adam on our way home for leave Mid tour and we talked the entire flight home. I have never forgotten you or all the conversations and the couple times I got to see him when they came to the main post in Mosul.

To the family & loved ones of Adam: Today, 5-31-2010 is not the first time I have thought of/remembered PFC Harris. I didn't know this young man, nor his family, but since the day I first read about his loss in our local paper, he's had a place in my memory & in my heart. One day a year is not often enough to remember our fallen service members. We the people of this nation can never repay the price our soldiers & their families have paid, and are still paying, for our country and for our freedom. I know your hearts must ache each day, but know that everyday I'm alive, I am grateful for the sacrifice that brave Americans like Adam have made for my Liberty.
God bless you, and know your loss is not forgotten.
Sincerely, from one citizen,
John Duncan

To Stephen and Denise, I just found out about Adam. I cannot imagine the saddness and devastation you must have had and still go through. My heart sank and my body went numb when I read the story. I always wondered how the lil' fella was. I remember Adam as a fun happy little kid who liked to ride his bike and play and watch football and that he brought a lot of joy into your hearts, he did for me too. This is so sad for me I can't write anymore.
My sincere sympathies, Mark Sullivan

Not a day goes by that I don't miss you. I look up to this man for being brave enough to fight for not only our freedom, but the freedom of another country. I'm so thankful to have had Adam in my life. He has touched me in so many different ways. I love and miss him so much. May God continue to be with his friends and family and anybody else who's life he has touched.

Father we entrust our brother Adam to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Adam in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Adam, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

i didnt know that adam had passed. i was very good friends with adam, and we briefly dated over the summer of 2000 when he was at l.c. bird in va. he always dreamed of camaros and said that he was disappointed that his om had bought a oldsmobile or something that started with an o instead of his dream car. he left and went back to abilene and i was so sad. i was loving adam for a brief time, but will always love this man forever. we worked together at mcdonalds, and swam at dutch gap! i love you adam harris, and our memories will never fade, and i will always hear our song and think of you "i gotta take it on the other side! how long, how long will i slide, separate my time, i don't believe its best!" its all i ever known. i love u

Our heart and prayers goes out to the family of PFC Adam Harris. We feel what you feel because we too lost a wonderful "Son, Sibling & Soldier." Our buddy, Cpl. Ryan D Collins, died on May 19th and we know in our hearts that he is in a much better place, but that still does not take away the pain that we endure everyday. Ryan would had turned 21 last Tuesday (8-28) and even though he spent a short time on earth, much like PFC Harris, we know our sons & brothers made a diffence in this world. May God Bless You All and may he continue to use our sons in the manner he planned 21 years ago.
Sincerely,
Proud Mom of CPL. Ryan D Collins

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

My husband, Adam Dickamore was stationed with Adam in Mosul Iraq. Adam Harris went to Baghdad one day and my husband told him to bring him something back. Adam J. brought him back a cross, I now have that cross on my teddy bear along with my husbands dog tags. My husband is back in Iraq and he says he is glad to get back there in Adam's honor. They were good friends.

The loss of a son is unbearable. We lost ours on September 3rd, also in Iraq. Try to keep his memory alive by sharing your memories and remember that the warmth of the sun is him smiling down on you. His work here is done. May God bless you and ease your pain.
