I would like to let Greggs parents know that he is not forgotten. I have been carrying a picture of Gregg and a brother Marine taken in Iraq while he was on tour there. That was almost 14 years ago. I carry it in my Bible and I remember Gregg every Sunday when I open it. I thank God for such brave young men that sacrificed their lives for this country. I think of him every Sunday and will do so till I am called home. Just wanted you to know I am one of many he influences on a regular basis to this very day.

Greg, I barely knew you as my third cousin. It was very hard hearing we lost a family member in war. It's in the family war and military stuff. You were brave to fight and continue on the family gene. We miss you and I tried to find your grave a few months ago and couldn't hard to believe huh.....

My thoughts, prayers, and sympathies go out to the family and loved ones of Gregory P. Rund today. I can only imagine what it may feel like to be a loved one of a person the calibre of Mr. Rund and have to mourn the loss of him, I must admit it's not a feeling I ever want to feel and again, I am so sorry for your loss.
Mr. Rund is one of a handful of fallen soldiers I have chosen to single out to my young nephews and niece so as to explain to them the meaning of what it is to serve your country, protect us living in this country and unfortunately paying the ultimate price. Mr. Rund will always be remembered in our family although none of us ever had the privilege of meeting him. When one of the kids in our family is asked who a hero is to them I know they'll immediately respond that Lance Cpl. Gregory Rund is one of the heroes they know.
God Bless Gregory Rund, his family and all the rest of his loved ones! I thank you all for loving and caring for a man strong enough to sacrifice himself for me and my family and once again, words cannot explain how sorry I am for his loss.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

I am married to a Marine that was in India Company with Greg. He had so many wonderful things to say about your son. He told me he was funny and kind, how driven he was, how much he wanted to attend college. I never met your son, but attended his funeral and could see what an amazing young man he was. please know that your pain is all of our pain. You are not in this alone. Your family and "Rund", as I heard him called, will not be forgotten. Thank you for raising a man like this. Thank you Greg for giving the most any human can for another. to the family of gregory rund.. having lost a family member 9/11 on one of the airplanes, i know how important these guest book signings can be.. they have brought us comfort and support these past 6 years. I know i dont have the words to tell you and comfort you about your loved ones sacrifice, but didnt want it to go unnoticed. I know a day doesnt go by without missing the sound of his voice, or his laughter, or watching him eat his favorite things, but hold on to those cherished memories and hold each other tight when you need to..

We can't imagine what you have been going through since being notified of the death of your young Warrior. The Military and families all over the USA and world are grieving with you and praying for you. What a very brave individual you have in your family that would give up a life for their homeland and its people so they can remain free. My son, Richard Hoover, was a friend of Greg's. He has very fond memories of him and speaks of him with a huge smile on his face.
I cannot even begin to imagine how hard it is to lose your son. I hope you take comfort in knowing that many Americans are very grateful for the sacrifice he made, and the sacrifice you have made.

hi, I went to school with Hilario Lopez. He was also killed in the ambush that Lance CPL. Gregory P. Rund was killed in. Im so sorry about your loss. I think of everyday the sadness that people have to go through in this crazy war. My brother was in the marines also. He was injured in Najaf in Iraq. He was lucky though. I wish you were along with the others who suffer losses. God is watching over everyone of these soldiers and over you. love Keysha

Hey, my name is Kristen and I just moved to Colorado recently. I remember back during the Columbine time, my school changed totally in Georgia. It was a hard time for the country, because it could happen to any school. For a guy to live through that then go fight for his country is truly heroic. I just would like to express my condolences to Greg's family for your loss. Anyone that serves our country is a hero in my eyes.
My boyfriend is going into the Marines and his brother is in the Marines. They are both doing reserves and when I found out what happened, I was shocked. Your son is a brave person to go to Fallujah and fight for our country. He will be in my prayers and so will your family. God Bless!
