Hello,

We apologize for being so late in expressing our deepest condolences to you and your family. We want you to know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Joseph A. Rahaim US Army Specialist.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families, friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

I am so glad I stumbled upon this site because Andrew,( is who we called him at JCPENNEY'S here in Hattiesburg,MS)was truly a gift from God,he made me laugh at my saddest moments and lifted me up whenever I worked with him. Andrew was the kind of guy that lit up the room and that wasnt hard for him and until this day I am glad to have known him because of his respect for others. It saddened me to learn of his passing, but I am also happy for Drew because he did what he wanted to do, became a hero, died a hero, that's my Andrew he was bigger than life and I say that with all my heart. To his family and friends weep not,Andrew is missed, but not forgotten. The last time I saw him years ago after leaving JCPENNEY he came in the store with three female friends and I said," Drew are you chasing these women" and he smiled so big and said, no they're chasing me and that was the the Drew we all knew at JCPENNEY. May God Bless the entire Rahaim Family.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I knew Drew from one of my friends serving with him! Needless to say I feel in love with him and his personality! It was hard for anyone who knew Drew not to love him! He loved life, making people laugh, but most of all he loved the military! I can not wait to be able to see him again one day! I miss him so much!

Psalm 23

1

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!

My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

I was introduced to Drew about three and a half years ago by my parents and my sister Mary. He was at Ft. Hood then, so he was pretty close to our house in Robinson. We had so much fun with him, so many memories that will always be with me. He always wanted to be a hero, and now he is. I will never forget Drew, he will always be my Hero!

I knew Drew when I attended school with him in MS. He is one of those people we need more of. I wish I knew he joined the army, when I started high school I moved to a different school. I am sure he would want us to be happy, because if this happened he would want us to be. He always knew war history expecially the civil war like the back of his hand. I wish i knew he was coming through, I am here at ramstein the main hub for travel to the mid east. I am medical, so i see a lot of people that come to the hospital here from down south.

Drew was my soldier at Fort Hood for the duration of his time in Texas. As his platoon leader and executive officer, I had the pleasure of laughing at all his stories and I have a number of great memories and photos of our time together. He is missed. Many soldiers in Texas remember Drew as a friend.

Drew was a great funny guy who I grew to love. There are no words to express what I am now feeling, but I know he is in the presence of the all mighty God. Today, Memorial Day, I found out he died. I was getting up set with him because he hadn't called me in atleast three months, now I know why.

It's been a while since I have seen the Rahaim family, but know that you are in a special place in my heart from your time at FBC Canton. I am praying for your family and know that Jesus still reigns. Nothing that is said at a time like this seems like the right thing to say...but I love you and I am praying for you daily. Whether you may remember me or not (it's been about 7 yrs), I remember you and the spiritual impact you had on me. Thank you for your leadership for Christ, and I know Drew was not only a soldier for the USA but first and foremost for Jesus Christ as he still is today.

My son is also with the 155th Infantry serving in Iraq and I cannot know what you must be going through. My dad was very good friends with Mr. Milheim Rahaim when they were younger and I know that Drew's grandfather is waiting at Heaven's Gates with open arms for him. My prayers go out to you.

My son is also in Iraq. I can't begin to understand what you must feel at this time...pride, grief and so much more. My heart goes out to you and your family. I know you shall find comfort in your faith and prayer.

God Bless your family at this incredibly difficult time. May you find comfort in the fact your son is a true hero to so many in this country and we are indebted to him for his sacrifice. My sons (8,5,1) will be taught about all of these brave soldiers, that they risked their lives so my children can be free. God Bless you.
