Joseph Samuel Rahaim

Joseph Samuel Rahaim of The Villages, Florida and formerly of Farmington Hills, Michigan peacefully passed on to heaven, Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the age of 81, with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of 59 years to his dear wife Dianne (née Tawyea). He was the dedicated and adoring father of Joseph W. Rahaim (Nora), Julie Durocher, and Stephen Rahaim (Kate Killberg) and the extremely proud "Jido" of Joseph, Kara, Jack, Chloe, Evan and Lucas.
He was an incredibly kind, generous, faith-filled, and loving family-man who found the most joy in life when he and Dianne gathered with their children, grandchildren and extended family. He loved boating and swimming at Mullet Lake, Michigan and exploring the United States and beyond on many trips.
Joe was born in Detroit, and grew up in Southfield, Michigan. As a young man he worked hard at his father's specialty grocery store with his siblings. He attended University of Detroit Jesuit High School and graduated Lawrence Technological University. He had a successful career as an engineer in the automotive industry, working for Ford and Chrysler. After retiring he and Dianne moved to The Villages, where they gained many loving friends. He was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and actively participated in a local Autism support group. He enjoyed golf, bocce, poker and live entertainment. As a life-long Detroit sports fan he always cheered on his Detroit Lions and Tigers, win or lose.
Along with his wife, children and grandchildren, Joe is also survived by his close-knit Lebanese siblings Nancy Baggett, Rachel Brennan, Laurice Kelke, Samuel Rahaim and John Rahaim and dozens of adoring in-laws, nieces and nephews, and countless friends. He was predeceased by his parents Julia (née George) and Samuel Rahaim, his brothers Said Rahaim and David Rahaim and son-in-law Tim Durocher.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood, on Saturday, November 8, 11AM.
