I deeply admired the loyalty and bravery Mr William D. Richardson had shown in his country and to his fellow soldiers. It was a pity your life was taken away at such a young age. I guessed God has another mission for him in heaven...

To the family of Cpl. William Dean Richardson:
My name is Julie Terando and I have three children. My son is 7 years old and just started second grade. He came to me the day before school started and asked if he could wear this necklace that we have had hanging in our kitchen for several years. That's where you come in to play. I have always looked at the name on this tag and thought about what type of person this man must have been, but then i decided to go on line and see if there was anything at all about him on there. To my surprise there is a lot. I bought this dog tag in my home town of Marseilles Illinois when we held our first Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run. Your son is a remarkable person and as I have read one heck of an athlete. My husband was a state wrestler and loved football, so I really thought that was pretty neat. I just wanted to tell you that your son's name is in our family forever, and I would love to send you his name off of our freedom wall if you would like it. I wish I would of looked at this site a long time ago, but computers is just not me. I hope someday you will receive this message and I hear back from you.
Sincerely,
Julie Terando

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know William, but he is my hero. IF you would like a copy of the angel I posted here, please contact me and I will email that to you.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Hey Dinker! I just wanted to say that I love you so much, and that I will never stop learning from you. You taught me a lot in life, like how to be strong, and you have taught me so much in your passing. You have taught me how to remember the good things. You taught me that it is ok to cry, and most importantly to tell people I care about how I truly feel about them. Thank you for that.
Love forever and always,
~Shelly~

My experience of knowing Dean was as his freshman football coach at Moreno Valley. As the first few days of 'hell week' went on, the coaches noticed that Dean was always early to practice and ready to go.

As we got into the season, we also noticed that Dean possessed the one thing that all coaches want in their players, a 'top fuel motor' ready to run. And he did not use it just for game days, it was there during practice, even to the point that even his own team mates were telling him to slow down! What a joy for a coach to have. And players that possess that are very rare. It was great to watch him chase the opposing ball carrier down from the other side of the field (often from 20-30 yards away!) and make the tackle behind the line of scrimmage.

Mr. and Mrs. Richardson & family, thank you for giving us Dean.

I didn't know Dean but I remember seeing him at MoVal. I remember running into him at the recruiters office once, we were both doing hometown recruiting. Crazy how life is...I was home visiting my mom and as im reading the PE, i come up to the obits section and see his face. I immediately recognized him. I was in complete disbelief. Although we never exchanged more than a few words, it still hurt to learn of his death. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I can proudly say that Im a proud little sister of a army hero. I love you so much Dean, this isnt goodbye but a see ya later.

Dean was fun, caring and always a good person to come to for a laugh. I knew him all four years of high school and graduated with him as the class of 2000. I was a cheerleader and saw him on many occasions at football games and wrestling matches. His enthousiam for sports was infectious, anyone who was aroung him on game day kenw no different.

I can only imagine while fighting for our freedom, his fighting spirit shined to all. The class of 2000 will miss Dean and all of the smiles that he brought to or lives.

my deepest simpathy to his family and all of his friends.
