Barbara June Richardson

Barbara June (VanSicke) Richardson, 66, of Raleigh, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Duke Raleigh Hospital after a brief illness.

Barbara was born in Kingston, NY on January 4, 1960, daughter of George and Regina (Krom) Van Sickle. She was a graduate of Rondout Valley High School. She graduated from Ulster County Community College with an Associates Degree in Nursing, She worked in various RN nursing positions at local hospitals but found her niche in Long Term Care Nursing. She met and married the love of her life Donald Dennis Richardson. Moving to the Raleigh area, she continued her nursing career serving as Supervisor at local Nursing homes.

She was an avid counted cross stitcher, creating many beautiful pictures that she often gave as gifts. She loved sitting by her window, watching and feeding wild birds and caring for her three cats. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Donald D. Richardson. (2005).

Barbara is survived by her sons, Caleb Richardson and Joshua Richardson, grandson Kamdyn Foster III, and granddaughter Kamiyah Emmeryson Richardson, and her Brother Russell Van Sickle and sister-in-law Lucy Van Sickle, as well as many relatives on her husband's family side and many cousins on the VanSickle family side.

A graveside service will be held March 31st, 2026 at 2 pm at Wake Forest Cemetery, Wake Forest, NC.
