Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know 'Lewie', but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Lewie,
This is such a bitter sweet day for me. It is your birthday, November 11, 2007. The joy and happiness of your birth 32 years ago was so enormous for me as it has always been. The fact that you are not here with us is to great to bear at times. In my head, I know that you are in a better place than all of the rest of us but in my heart, I just want you here with us. I miss being able to talk to you, hug you, or just calling you especially after I talk to or am with Vanessa when she says or does something so her way. Vanessa is so much like you. She turned 9 on Nov.9th and I wish that you could have heard and seen how excited she was that day.
My heart is so broken over loosing you. I just want to be able to look into your beautiful face and be able to tell you just how much I Love You and see that wonderful smile of yours.
I LOVE AND MISS YOU SO MUCH,
MOMA

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

MY DAD
If I could see my dad one more time I would get a great big hug and kiss and tell him I Love Him, I would be the happiest child on earth. Not seeing hime makes me sad. My dad makes me happy. I love my dad and he always said he loves me. He has a tattoo of my name on his left arm. My dad use to tell me he has more than one thousand pieces of hair on his head.
One summer he went to IRAQ. I did not get to see him ever again. He died in Iraq while going to a building in a truck. The bad people had buried some bombs in the ground and all of a sudden they blew up. A lot of other people died on that day.
I love him more than anything or anyone in the world. I wish that I could give him a great big hug and kiss.

I'll never forget the time that I met Lewie. It was a December Drill. Family was gathered for their Christmas Dinner. He wanted me to meet his wife Debra. She was his everything and you could see it in his eyes.
Lewie will be missed by all, but NEVER forgotten. AS I look back and remember that day, I smile because that's the day that memories were made. As Guard families came together and laughed, joked and had a good time. I think Lewie touched everyones lives in one way or another. He was just that type of person. ALWAYS dedicated and careing, that was Lewie.
No one can ever take away the memories we all had of Lewie.
May God continue to strengthen his family and friends that miss him so.

I am part the unit that Lewie was in and I am blessed to be able to say that I new him.I was not his best friend but I like to believe
we were friends just a little.Over the the last few years we shared some down time, meals, and some of the same training on occasion. In
Iraq we lived in the same tent with
other members of his platoon and we were able to talk a little. It was hard to look at that empty bunk
and know I would not see him on this side of eternity again. He will always be missed but with good thoughts always. He loved his wife and children very,I know this because he always had his laptop next his bunk with a picture of him and his wife showing on the screen 24/7.He was a great member
of his team and will always be remembered that way.

Those we love remain with us,
for love itself lives on...
And cherished memories never fade,
Because a loved one's gone....
Those we love can never be,
more than a thought apart....
For as long as there is memory,
They'll live on in the heart.

I just wanted to express my heartfelt sympathies to Lewie Ganey’s family. During my high school years at Hilliard, we became friends and teammates. Playing football for the Flashes, Lewie quickly made a name for himself as a hard-hitting linebacker who would never back down…even against toughest competitors. All though I didn’t keep in touch with him after high school, I’m sure he took the same approach in life. I was extremely sad to hear about him, but I know that he was doing exactly what he loved. Lewie, thank you for everything…you will always be remembered.

I have just learned of the death of Spc. Jerry L. Ganey. As the State Chaplain of the Georgia Sons Of The American Revolution and speaking for our President, George Thurmond and more than 1,400 SAR members around the State of Georgia, may I most humbly express the condolences of a grateful Society. Spc. Ganey, wrapped in the integrity of service to our nation and the inestimable values of duty, honor and country, stood on a wall of freedom for us all. His life and his love of country epitomized every attribute of patriotism the Sons Of The American Revolution hold dear. And, as Americans, we could never repay the debt we owe him ..!! Nor the debt we owe you… his family!!!

My brother James Michael, from Hilliard, served in the 101st Airborne in Iraq. I have strong military ties and have nothing but respect for all those men and women who continually fight for our freedom. I went to school with Lewie at Hilliard. I watched from the sidelines as he played football, and ran beside him as we ran track. He was an awesome athlete with a great personality.
Lewie, THANK YOU for the sacrifice you and your family made, so my family and I can have freedom. May God place his hands on your family in their time of sorrow. You are a hero and you will never be forgotten.

Lew and myself were both only children. His dad and my mother married when we were very young. He was a very important part of my life ever since. We never refered each other as step brother or sister because in our eyes we were blood. I will miss him more than words can express and so will his nephew Alex and neice Kaylee. I am so proud of him and grateful to him for fighting for our freedem. He gave the ultimate sacrafice for us and we will always keep him alive in our memories and in our hearts. Immediately I said, "he's from St.George" she said no Folkston. For 20 Ohio Marines
Did you feel the wave of sympathy
surging across the Pennsylvania line
and out to you,
the families left behind?
We know.
For we saw your boys
here among ours,
at High School proms
in cars, in shopping malls,
in churches, at picnics
and on the curb
at parades on July 4th
watching veterans
of other wars,
saluting them with gratitude.
We saw them at gates
leaving wives and families,
grandparents
and forlorn young girls--
turning to leave
with head held high,
looking back one last time.
We know them.
For yours are ours.
