Many of us who had the honor and privilege of serving with your son will remember him always. He was a good man, quiet and determined. He would give everything he had in order to help someone in need. His sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Dear Zvonne and family,
We hope you are all well. We really miss Antoine and think of him often. He was a wonderful young man and a hero to his country. I love the photos attached to this guest book, especially the one of you and him. I am making a large painted banner for my school for Veteran's Day and am going to paint the picture of Antoine in his dress uniform right in the center. I will try my best to do it justice. I still have the program with the picture on it. I will send you a photo of it when I am finished. Are you still at the same address in Pike? We miss you all and Indpls.
Love to everyone, Zvonne. Take care of yourselves. We are honored to have know Antoinne!

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I went to high school with Antoine, and considered him a good friend while we knew each other. I was so sad to hear about his passing, and I wish you and your family the best as you continue to grieve and remember his life. He was an amazing individual, quiet, sometimes shy, but with a wonderful laugh I could recognize anywhere. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

"For he who sheds his blood with me today, shall be my Brother". I barely knew you, But i served with you in 4-27th FA. We met on a few occasions, I remember. Thank you for giving what you gave. The rest of us who now sit and look to the heavens can only imagine your pain, and now, your peace. I was with the unit during round one. Now i can only wish to be with my brothers in the sandbox again. I wish that i was there to serve with you and 4-27 once again. You are a member of a great unit, no matter where you are, you are still a Thunder Soldier. Iron Thunder! May god Keep you well. God Bless

To the Family of Spc. Antoine J. mcKinzie:

I am deeply saddened to see that another soldier has been KIA in Iraq. We want you to know that we grieve with you over the loss of another precious soul such as Antoine. I know from first hand experience what you are feeling and what you must be going through. We lost a son in Ramadi, Iraq on December 1, 2005, SFC Brent A. Adams.

As Brent’s mother I know there is nothing I can say at this point in time that will ease your pain and sorrow over the terrible loss of your brave and courageous son. We know your hearts are broken and there is now a void and deep sadness in your heart that will never be filled. May it help you to know that there are others who share your pain, agony and sorrow. While the pain will probably never leave but lessen some with time, we pray the Lord gives you comfort, peace and strength to help you cope with this earth shattering loss no parent ever wants to experience. If it would help to talk please don’t hesitate to contact us.

This is an extremely difficult time, but hold on to those wonderful memories of your son….the ones that make you laugh and remember with joy the moments that you shared. The laughter between all those tears is one of the ways that will help you work through your grief. Antoine is a hero (a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities) and even though we were not fortunate enough to know him we pray for you and all your family and for all those men and women serving our country so valiantly. Our children have made the ultimate sacrifice and they will always be honored and never forgotten. Unfortunately these tragic events have bound all of us together and changed our lives forever. God bless you and all those who mourn the loss of Antoine and thank you for his courageous service to our country!

I am so sorry to hear about the death of SPC McKinzie. My son was the one to tell me. He is a soldier also serving in Iraq with SPC McKinzie at the present and was also from the 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany. My son said he new him well. My son is SPC Tyler McKinley. My heart goes out to you and everyone who knew him. Cannot tell you how much I worry about our soldiers everyday. Prayers for all.

March 25, 2006

To the Family of Spc. Antoine J. mcKinzie:

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost our son 12/1/05.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort. When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
