Jeremy, today is Thanksgiving and I wanted to tell you that I was thinking about all the Thanksgivings we had and how you used to eat the olives and drink the juice. It was so gross. But how I do miss it. How I miss a lot of things. Anthony had his 8th birthday and it was great. You would have loved it. Tons of kids, pizza and toys. He now has an Army room and is so proud of it. He is just like you, except not as wild as you. However, Mackenzie has your wildness. Your babies are beautiful and they are amazing kids. You would be so proud of them if you were here. Happy Thanksgiving my brother. Love and miss you!

October 30, 2010

Jeremy, today I thought of you. Mom told me how Anthony and Mackenzie came to see her at work in their costumes. It reminded me of all the Halloweens we had and trick-or-treating. They are getting so big now and Anthony looks just like you and Mackenzie has your go go go spirit. I went to a haunted house tonight and remember the time we went to Mystery Manner and I cried like a baby when the clown came up to me and how you laughed so hard at me. I really wish you could be here right now. Your little sister, Abbi Jo

This past Sunday, February 21st, 2010, Jeremy and Jenny would have celebrated their 6th Wedding Anniversary. I will never forget you Jeremy as I see you through your children every day. It is amazing how AJ resembles you, not only his pretty blue eyes and husky build, but also his mannerisms. He doesn't like the extra "fixings" on his food, wipes his dirty hands on his pants just like you did, enjoys playing video games—it’s fun to watch the excitement in his face when he plays Mario on the WII. And I’m sure you’re watching over Mackenzie as she drives Mommy crazy, being a curious 4 year old and wanting to help do things around the house. Hard to believe it’s been almost 4 years, when it seems like yesterday that you left us. Jenny and the kids are constantly reminded of you and I know you are watching over them. You are truly missed. Love you Jeremy!

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Jeremy, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Bulldog,
I will always remeber the many parties and all the fun we had before Iraq. I wish your family the best of luck. may you eternally rest in peace brother.

August 2, 2007

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

It has now been one month since we received word of Jeremy's death. As a family we have gotten through the inital rough times and as a family we will support one another through the rough months ahead.

During these past four weeks, our family has had many times where we have remembered past events, memories, shared pictures and stories where we have both laughed and cried. Jeremy has given us so many memories to hold onto and to share with his children as they grow up. We promise to keep his memory alive.

We were so proud of Jeremy's accomplishments and so humbled to see the community response. Thanks to Congressman Terry, Senator Nelson, Senator Hagel, Governor Heineman, Lt. Governor Sheehy, Mayer Fahey and many others who made sure that Our Hero was honored.

As Pastor Schneider said, Jeremy was "Omaha's Ultimate Patriot". To his family he was also "Our Ultimate"...husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.

We love you Jeremy and wish you were still with us, but look over us now as our Guardian Angel.

With love from your Aunt Roberta and the Jones, Worm, McLaren and Biskup Families.

I was very saddened to learn of Jeremy's death. I remember him as a very cute 3 year old, taking him to the zoo and other places when Scott & I would have him. Although I was his stepmother for a very short time I have often thought and wondered about him & what his life had become. I am very proud of him.

I am certain that as Anthony told me today, his Daddy is his Angel now, that all of the family and all the friends will be there every step of the way for these two beautiful children to remind them and let them know what kind of person their Daddy was, and that he is in fact an Angel in heaven forever and ever. I personally am truly grateful the the ultimate sacrifice that Jeremy made for me and my family. God Bless the family and God Bless Mackenzie and Anthony. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To the Family of Cpl. Jeremy S. Jones;

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.

Dear Jenny and Families:

I'd like to share this with you, if only to help ease your pain:

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say

I'm writing this from Heaven, Here I dwell with God above,

Here, there are no more tears is just Eternal Love.

Please do not be unhappy, just because I'm out of sight.

That day I had to leave you, when my life on earth was through.

God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

"It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.

As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.

I need you here badly; you're part of my plan

There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that He wished for me to do,

And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight,

God and I are closer to you...in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years,

Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain.

Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned,

But if I were to tell you, you wouldnt' understand.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er

I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb,

But together we can do it, by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too,

That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,

Then you can say to God at night, "My day was not in vain."

And now I am contented, that my life has been worthwhile,

Knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,

Just lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind,

I'm walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free,

Remember you're not going,....you're coming here to me.

My dear, dear Jenny and families:

My heart bleeds for you for all that your heart has to endure at this time. All the events seemed to have taken over your lives so too quickly and almost too much for your hearts to bear. God will continue to watch over you and your family because I know you each had faith. Pain is such a small price to pay for all the love and memories you have, and I pray God will grant you each the strength to help each of you, through this very difficult time. I know that Jeremy will continue to watch over you, with all the love you shared. My love and prayers are with each of you.

My sympathy is with the family of Jeremy. I know his father through my mom. They where friends at one time. All though I did not know Jeremy personally I want to thank him and his family for what he was doing. He served in the military to keep me and my family as well as everyone else in the USA safe and to that I owe him a lot of grattitude. Thank you Jeremy for keeping us safe. And may god be with you and your family at this time and forever.

Everyone who knew him and loved him will always keep him in their hearts and minds to feel him close, I am so proud of him and others and what they do for us, I'm so sorry...Freedom isn't FREE as we all know, bless you and yours, your family will be in our thoughts always,

We always hope that there will not be another life to mourn on this side in this war. But we do know that your soldier went with intent, commitment to his fellow soldiers, and a complete intention to do his job til this war was over. Our son Benjamin Schuster was KIA in Ar Ramadi Iraq on February 25, 2006 by sniper fire. It is four months, but it is nothing. He remains our boy, as your son , brother etc. always will. You are not alone. There are so many of us out there doing the things that grieving and commited families do for the one they love. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you struggle to make sense of this separation. It's only for a while...

The price this Young Soldier and his family paid for this country will never be forgotten... Rest well in the arms of our Precious Lord.

May God's comfort and blessings be with His family.
