We had such a lovely night at your sister Teresa´s place tonight. She cooked for Tammy, Alyssa and me. Her food is so good. Afterwords we sat around the table sharing our special memories of you. Oh my dear son, you are not forgotten, never and we can´t wait to get your big bear hug when we meet again. I will be busy Sunday on your angel anniversary giving your niece Alyssa a farewell get together. She will be leaving for her mission on the 31st to tell the world the truth, the gospel of Jesus Christ. Joining the Lord´s army here on earth.......
So hard to believe it will be 17 years since you went home to join the Lord´s army on the 22nd.

There is a portrait the artist Phil Taylor painted and presented it to me and his siblings in 2018. He paints these portraits and calls it the American Fallen Soldiers Project. I am trying to remember how to add a photo.... If you go to this website, they write about him. There are a couple of mistakes with the first date should be 2004-5 and he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars, one for each tour in Iraq. The rest is pretty accurate.

I am not an American, but I love this country dearly, and also grateful for her sacrifices. I heard about Willsun Mock, read a brief story of him and wept. I have also written a poem in his honour titled 'On the Street of Babylon', which I intend to send to his mom. May God be with you. Amen!

Some of us will be at the Harper cemetery for the Memorial services, thinking of you with a tear in our eyes as they play taps. I talked to a cousin who went out Saturday morning and played taps in honor of you and Grandpa Arlo on his mother's violin. After the ceremony, we are going to gather at the park for a pot luck and visit the memorial that the city fixed up real nice, and add an updated photo here......

I first wrote in this guest book almost 8 years ago. We always hear that time heals all wounds. I think that if we ask the family of a soldier whose life was lost would probably prove that statement is not accurate. The loss would be unbearable. The void of their smile, the warmth of their hugs, and hearing "hey mom" can never be replaced in the lives of those left behind. RIP Sargeant Mock. You gave it all. You indeed served with strength and honor. Valiant & courageous ! Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. RIP - you earned your eternal rest. This Memorial Day is for you & all those with you now that served and lost their lives serving their country. You are missed.

I never knew you personally, but only through the book, They Fought for Each Other and by watching your interviews. It is amazing how one life can branch out and affect so many others. Finding this site must be fate for me.
I did not know Sgt Mock and only heard of him many Yrs ago on CNN in the Arwa Damon Report on him. I was stunned at the end of the report when she reported he had been killed. For reasons I do not know I have never forgotten the report or Sgt Mock and think of him and his family often. I never served in the military, but my son did and thank God returned home safe. To the Mock Family, from what I heard from Sgt Mock in that report you raised quite a kid.
I wish to God I knew with all the reports of those killed in Iraq and Afghanistan I see, and of all the funerals I've attended with The Patriot Guard I wish I knew why Sgt Mocks Death haunts me.
I will be making a permanent monthly donation in Sgt Mocks name to The Purple Heart Homes Org As long as they are around and for the rest of my life.
Sgt Mock will never be forgotten and was, and is appreciated by strangers.

Ann, The family that posted below on Nov. 11 describes how your wonderful son impacted their young son and it is much the same way that I described to you how he impacted me. I never new him but that night on CNN when they reported his falling, I felt that I had lost a close friend. That has never left me and never will.

I posted on here back on February 4, 2007 to share with you how SGT Mock has impacted my little boy. This Veteran's day I wanted SGT Mock's family to know m son, HunterJohn, still shouts to the heavens, "Strength and Honor SGT Mock". He Keeps SGT Mock's photo and motto in a frame above his bed and has for 5 years now. HunterJohn is 11 years old now.
I can't explain how this amazing person you raised - that my child never met - has impacted my son's life. Ann, Thank you for your son. Thank you SGT Mock for being who you were and participating in that CNN report.
It breaks my heart to think of your family's sacrifice but I hope knowing that your child is respected, remembered, appreciated by some child he never met on a daily basis gives you some sort of comfort. Bless you!
