Was thinking of you today. You were one of the reasons why I enlisted in 2000. Whenever I needed a friend who could relate while I was stationed in San Diego an entire country away from Bangor, you were always just a phone call away. We had a lot of great times. Last we spoke was when your flight over was on layover at BIA. I wish that I would have made it to see you off but unfortunately was not able to. Till next I see you again bro, I love you and miss you. Rest easy.

Tomorrow is your birthday Kris. You would have been 36 years old. I can remember talking about what type of people we would be at 30. If you were here today, I think you would have been an extraordinary man extraordinary father and an extraordinary friend. I miss you and think about you so hard sometimes I think that maybe you can hear me from heaven.
Happy birthday my friend. I love you.

I watched SSG Ciraso tonight on the documentary "The Anatomy of Hate" and my heart broke for him as he talked about his friend Jones dying; when they announced that the next day Kristofer himself died, I burst into tears. I'm so sorry for your loss.

It has been 4 years since I lost my bestfriend my heart still hurts. I would give anything to beable to touch your hand, to hug you, to laugh with you and to tell you one more time that I love you. Kris was a great friend and the only friend that truly knew everything about me and who I could trust to with my heart. I will never forget him. I miss you Kris

In Memory of Kristofer ~ (Debra Estep)

December 7, 2008

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Kristofer, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Kirs was an amazing man. I am so lucky and blessed that I got to have him in my life. He was my best friend for almost ten years. And I think about him every single day. He is truly a HERO in every since of the word. His heart and soul was truly out of this world. He was loved and still loved by so many people. He was a solder threw and threw. And loved to be in the Army. He use to tell me that he was happy that he would be going to fight a war. This is what he joined the Army to do. And he fought hard and was a leader to many. I miss you Kris and love you. RIP

Kris was a wonderful person with a big heart and he will always be missed and holds a special place in my heart. My high school sweet heart and friend always will be missed. I am sorry that he is gone.

August 21, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

To the family and friends of Kris C.

Kris was a friend of mine, although not many know of me. I had met him while on his 1st tour in Iraq. Actually got to meet him face to face when he came home. He had a great smile and was as nice a person that anyone could meet. Wished I was able to get to know him a little better but he is in a good place. I would like to give his family my condolences for their loss. He loved being a soldier and loved helping others. My family will pray for your loss.
poem:
Each Day
Each day we sit and wonder
Each day we always ponder
Each day is always different
Each day we are hurting
Each day goes by quickly and
Each day we feel like crying
Each day we think of you
Each day we miss you
Each day we feel so blue
Because each day
We know we lost you.
May God be with each and every person.

I DIDN'T KNOW SGT. CIRASO BUT I FELT THAT I HAD TO SIGN HIS GUEST BOOK. WE LOST MY SON-IN-LAW IN IRAQ ON JANUARY 22 OF 2007. BECAUSE OF THIS I HAVE TRIED TO SIGN GUEST BOOKS OF BRAVE SOLDIERS IN 1ST CAVALRY DIVISION. NICK WAS IN 2/7 CAV AND WAS PROUD TO BE BOTH A SOLDIER AND AN INFANTRYMAN. HE LOVED HIS WIFE AND NEWBORN SON AND BELIEVED THAT HE HAD TO STOP THEM IN IRAQ SO THAT WE COULD BE SAFE HERE IN THE U.S. DURING THESE HARD TIMES WE MUST SUPPORT THE FAMILIES OF THESE YOUNG HEROES WHO VOLUNTEERED TO PROTECT US. THANK YOU FOR THE DEDICATION OF YOUR HERO AND FOR HIS FAMILY WHO SUPPORTED HIM. I PRAY FOR YOU AND CRY WITH YOU. NICK'S LIFE VERSE WAS JOSHUA 1:9, IT SAW HIM AND HIS WIFE THROUGH HARD TIMES AND STILL IS. PLEASE KNOW THAT THERE ARE THOSE WHO LOVE AND SUPPORT YOU BECAUSE OF YOUR SACRIFICE. THIS IS THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH BECAUSE OF OUR BRAVE YOUNG HEROES. EVEN THOUGH OUR HEARTS ARE BROKEN BY OUR LOSS ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT GOD WILL SEE US THROUGH THIS. HE LOST HIS SON ONCE SO THAT WE COULD SEE OURS ONCE AGAIN. THANK YOU,

Chris and my son Ryan Hills became friends in a christian school at an early age. We became very fond of him the more time the boys spent together. As the years passed, he became like a son to us and there will always be an emptiness in our hearts and our family now that he has gone. our prayers go to the family and friends he left behind and my prayer is.. he rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord and Savior. debbie hills

I wish I had gotten to know you better. In the brief time that I did know you I found you to be a loving partner to my daughter, a caring and loving father to my granddaughter, a fine dedicated soldier, and a wonderful man. I will never forget you and your sacrifices. Smile as you look upon Tracy and Liberty. Tracy is managing and Liberty is a pure pleasure. Tracy always tells Liberty how brave and wonderful her daddy was.

To the family of Sgt. Kristofer Ciraso:

Another Fallen Hero ~ we understand what you are experiencing and feeling. No amount of words can ease the pain of your loss. I know first hand there are no words of comfort at this time. We lost our only son 9~3~2004 at the age of 19 and it fells like yesterday. Just know that there are Marine families across the USA who is experiencing your loss and pain.

My heart breaks as I sign another guestbook of such a courageous soldier who gave his life so selflessly. May he rest in peace knowing that he was loved and remembered by those who knew him as well as strangers who admired his courage and sacrifice. God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and made the ultimate sacrifice. My deepest condolences, sympathy and prayers go out to the entire family. May God grant you peace, strength and comfort in such a difficult time. I will keep your family in my prayers along with all the families of our American Hero’s. Thank you.

Kristofer - My family and I are thankful for the Bravery, Courage, Determination and Service to fight for our country (our freedom), from you, my son and all the others in our armed forces for the sacrifice made for us. You all will not be forgotten.

We also have a Marine daughter and Marine son-in-law. I still fly my Marine flag and have my Marine tag and sticker on my vehicles because I'm PROUD of my SON and ALL THOSE MARINE MEN and WOMEN out there. I will always be a MARINE. “Soldier”
To Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Our son, PFC Jeremy Varnell was riding in the humvee with SGT. Ciraso before they stopped and he exited the vehicle.

Please know how deeply sorry I am, for the loss of
this Brave Young Soldier,
As a parent, who has lost a daughter suddenly,
and as a sister, who has lost a brother to war,
I am aware of the deep and devastating pain that you are experiencing.
The overwhelming heartache, seems to surface through our shock, as the time passes.
Please hang on to your Faith and know that you will get through this.
Ever so softly and slowly, time does heal.

May Staff Sgt. Kristofer R. Ciraso, Rest Safely, in the Loving Care of God and know that he Will Never Be Forgotten.
I pray that the Peace of God will be with the Ciraso family.
I am the sister, of such a Young Hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, 12/6/67.

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. Psalm 55:22

Sincerely hoping you can feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the days ahead, as this Country mourns with you, for someone very precious to you, who is a Hero to all of us.
