Sibling´s Prayer for Eternity.
God, my Promise-Keeper, You say that You will give eternal life to those who die in Christ. My friend and brother died in honor on the battlefield. Thank You for granting my fallen hero the eternal rest promised in You, Christ Jesus. I pray that as my loved one is there with You now, that You would give my beloved warrior all the comfort that he could ever want. Amen. Much love and respect. Thank you, Russell.

I remember Russ from our days at Dominos Pizza. We were so young and the world was for the taking. Working the lunch shifts with him almost five days per week we had great philosophical conversations. I am fortunate to have known him, he enriched my life with memories and humorous moments. God bless.

Hello Borea Family….I visited Russell over the Christmas Holiday and brought him a live poinsettia and I know he felt the Christmas spirt. Yesterday the cemetery had a blanket of snow over it and it was beautiful. My dad picked up the wilted flowers while visiting my mom Marian Moore and nephew Danial Bartlett…….and when the weather is nicer we will put a new red white and blue arraignment on Russel's grave. It has been our honor to honor an American hero. Thank you for his service. God Bless America.

Today I woke up and my daughter asked me about the wounded worriers! I asked her what she meant! She said she saw a man on T.V. He had 1 arm and 1 leg! This is the day I googled you her great uncle! I told her who you were and what you did for all of us! This is something that was hard for me to explain! I had only met you 1 time! The only things I know of you, are the things I have been told by my daughters grandfather ( your brother)! We talked about you for an hr! She was sad to find out what happened to you! And I told her yes it's vary sad! But she should be vary proud to have such a person in her family! Thank you so much for all you have done! ??

May God be with you my brother. We’ve shared many laughs. You were always a caring leader and very humble. You shared your passion with so many and created an up-beat atmosphere when at times things weren’t so pleasant. You set a standard that few could emulate and a morale belief that no one could suppress. I know your families are proud of you---they have so many reasons to be. Even though many of us have moved on… we haven’t forgotten. You were part of a dying breed, a genuine leader who led with care, sacrifice, selflessness and determination in the forefront. Your character never wavered; you stood true to your values, and never appeased for the sake of recognition. No… there was no need. Your men followed without hesitation and your peers valued your friendship and respected you heavily. You were sought out for more than your tactical knowledge, but manly for reasons that spawned rumors throughout the organization. You see, SFC Russell Borea was a caring leader, someone who seemed to have all the answers when others were too blind to see them. He kept things simple and knew that when you take care of Soldiers, everything else fell into place. He never faltered in believing this and shared this with anyone willing to embrace it. It’s because of this; I’m proud to have met him and will never forget all he’s done.
God Bless,

Well SFC. Borea,
It’s been 3yrs and 9 days now since the last time we laughed… My son is now a year and a half old… I have learned to adapt to some things with out the use of my leg or with the help of my prosthetic leg... It’s a constant reminder of JAN 19, 2007!!! I replay that day in my head so many times Boss Man, what could have been done different, which route would have been safer and why we didn’t come home safe that day… I never had the nerve to tell your wife how that day unfolded, to tell you the truth… I still don’t have the nerve to do so… Thank you for the leadership you taught me, I still remember all the long talks we had while sitting inside the Bradley AND Hummve, awaiting the enemy to strike… The conversations I will never forget…

It has been two year's since I lost my brother,Fallen Hero,Sgt.1st Class Russell Paul Borea U.S.Army and I still can't believe it but I have accepted it. I talk to you brother every day and think of a happier time in our childhood when we played football, basketball, and baseball from 6 years old to high school, but some how by the end my heart always aches and my eyes fill with tears and I say to myself, I can't believe it. My brother a drill sgt. in the U.S. Army, a Hero who died in war and I am so proud and thank God for blessing me by making me your older brother. Then my thoughts go even deeper and I think about his daughter and wife whom after 15 years I have grown to know and love. My deepest symphothys I am so sorry for your loss there is no words to describe how terrible I feel for you both and put you both in my prayer's every day and night and ask God to give you both the stingth you need to get thru the dayand ask Him please in time heal their broken hearts. I love you both and pray that the emptyness inside of you both someday goes away. My brother Russell I love you more than life it's self. I thank you for all the year's we shared. You are a kind, humble, strong, honest Godly rightous man. I promise you every January 19th me, my wife and my childrenwill see you at the grave for lunch as we have the last 2 years till the day I die. And stories will be told and my children will tell their children who will tell their children about a rightous man, a fallen hero who traveled to the other side of the earth, not just to fight for his homeland, but to fight for men, women and children not to be treated like animals but like human beings. My brother and many fallen hero's like him made the ultimate sacrifice. They gave their life for what the Bible says is right. But will not be forgoten won't let it happen, my wife and children won't let it happen. My life is forever changer without you. Say hello to Dad for me and know I long for the day that I walk thru the gates of the Kingdon to be with you and dad. I love you my brother Rusell. Nothing can ever take away my memories. The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Russell, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

To the Borea family,
Time stopped in its tracks when I heard the news that my best friend in the Army was gone. Words cannot express the pain I feel inside knowing I won't see him again on this side of heaven. I want you to know he will never, and I mean never be forgotten by me. It has taken me until now to express my deepest sympathy to his wife and daughter whom I've had the pleasure of meeting. SFC Borea and I attended Troy University together and we encouraged each other to reach for sky. I was right there when he graduated Master Gunner School at the very top of his class telling him how proud I was of him. We have the same degree, our daughters are the same age, and we both had a desire to teach after our time in the military was over. My prayer now is that God will not just comfort the both of you, but all the families that have lost family members to this war. May God bless and keep you is my prayer.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Maria,
It has probably been 8 years since we have talked. I was looking through Easton's scrapbook and came across pictures from trick o treating way back in 1998 in Vilseck. I googled your name to see if maybe I could find your address and drop you a line (I do that from time to time when I think of a friend I have lost touch with). I immediately found myself crying when I read of Russell's passing. What a difficult time for you and for marialena. You and your family are in my thoughts and my prayers. I am so sorry. I hope you will email me when you have the time. I tried to find your address or phone number, but have been unsuccessful. Again, my heart goes out to you. Take care.
Love

Mrs. Borea, Marialena, and the Borea/Watts family. I knew Russell from school, both Doolen Jr. High & Catalina High Schools. As a classmate, a veteran, and an American, it makes me very sad to hear of the loss of a husband, a father, a brother, a son, a friend and an American Hero. Please know that you and Russell are in the thoughts and prayers of many as we all owe you a deep debt of gratitude for all that you have done and all that you have given to preserve and provide the freedom and safety that we unknowingly take for granted. I am so proud to have known him. Thank you and God Bless you.

Mrs. Borea. I am trully sorry to hear the news of your husband. I feel terrible that I just found out today. Your husband and I were roomates and battle buddies during Drill Sergeant School at Ft. Benning. We hung out alot and I went to see him many times at 2-54. I am so so sorry. I was really enamored with him. He was such a good soldier and he always mentioned how his family was so important to him. We had such a good time together. He made school so much easier for me. I would love to get a address to contact you and your family to send a card. My email is [email protected].
Take care, Shiloh

Dear Mrs. Borea,
My family's sympathies are with you, your daughter and your family. I cannot tell you how sorry we are and the loss we feel with Sgt. Borea's passing away. Our son, Pfc. Ryan Kennedy is one of Sgt. Borea's soldiers in 2/7 Cav, A Co in Mosul. Ryan looked up to Sgt. Borea, spoke of him very often. He was an inspiration to Ryan and a wonderful role model. Ryan actually said more than once, he reminds him so much of his dad (my husband) and was sure to introduce me to Sgt. Borea when I went to El Paso to say goodbye to Ryan the day they left for Kuwait. I am so glad that I had the honor and privelege to meet a true American hero. God Bless, The Kennedy Family

Mrs. Borea,
I want to extend my deepest condolences to you and your family. I served with SFC Borea while he was assigned to 2-54 Battalion in Fort Benning. He always had kind words to say; no matter how hard times got at work. He would always have that "smile" when the privates made everyone else frown. The world has truly lost a great man and Soldier. God be with you and your family.
Sincerely,
SFC Val Braddock
