To the family and friends of Sgt Larry Bowman:
Please know that Sgt Bowman and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice were honored today at a 4 mile run on Long Island, NY. On each runners race bib were the names of four fallen soldiers. At the end of the race each runner rang a bell four times to signify that each Airman, Coast Guardsman, Sailor, Soldier or Marine named on the bib will be remembered for making the ultimate sacrifice.
I wanted to share that I ran the race today and that SGT Bowman was one of the soldiers that was named on my running bib. It was an honor to ring the bell to signify that no fallen warrior would be forgotten.
My thoughts & prayers go out to your family on this Memorial Day.

I don't even know what to say man. I'm sorry I didn't know. I do think about u often and remember how you stayed beside me all night while I was in the hospital having my first daughter. I tell her of you and how you didn't really want anyone to hold her lol. And how when we got home from the hospital you were the first one there and u fell asleep on the couch with her on your chest. How I wish she could have known what a wonderful person you are. I love you. And to your family I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

Please contact me and I will email you back a copy of an
Angel and soldier drawing.

I did not know 'Robby', but I am remembering on
this day he gave his all.
He is my hero.

January 12, 2008

Dear Family of a true hero, My daughters Father served with your soldier in the 513th he was in iraq but not on this mission. It is the 12th of january 2008, Tony still wears the black braclet with larrys name on it. Tony still thinks of larry and so do Natalee and I. Natalee saw a rainbow today and informed me that SGT Bowman sent it to us. I never met SGT Bowman, but feel he has been a friend forever. he is still in our prayers daily. Tony is no longer with the 513th and is now on his way to Ft.McCoy, Wi. But befor he left we went to MT. Rainer in Washington state, and placed 13 yellow roses with yellow ribbons, for he had told Tony many times that he and his wife were going there when he came home. Now he is home where all heros go when the lord decides he needs another one.
Tony still is silent on the 13th of every month, it is to honor larry, the only way he can, and that is to never forget him.

FOR OUR FALLEN BROTHER WE SHALL [FOREVER] STAND IN REMEMBRANCE !!!

November 3, 2007

Robbie, I have written before and have many thoughts as i look at a picture of you countless times during the day,The many words i think are confussed as the emitions i feel.Like i said before we know a very, very special lady.I have been involved with a program that honors brothers who have given all to a grateful nation. Many people throw the words [lucky] [forunate]and [blessed]around as the current event applies,For all who have pounded the jungles, waited the waters, engagements on city streets and been in the sandbox know luck is comming home with your brother by your side,Not flag draped.Only few know the dreams we dream, countless [if's][ should haves]and why.THANK YOU for being their and doing the deed,For it is not for glory,But for the eye's of children to se a future if not like ours than better shall we fight.REST WELL BROTHER FOR THAT STAR SPANGLED BANNER SHALL FOREVER WAVE,YOUR NAME STAMPED IN STEEL SHALL[FOREVER]BE CLUTCHED IN THE TALLONS,AND YOUR SPIRIT SHALL [FOREVER] SOAR HIGH IN THE SKIES IN THE SYMBOL OF OUR GREAT NATION.COME by NORTH**COME by SOUTH**COME by EAST**COME by WEST,,We were all gathered and united on that great day as strangers,And upon those last [4] spoken words we are FOREVER BROTHERS!!!!! HOO YAH...SEMPER FIDELIS.......B.V.C.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

I would like to express my deepest sympathies to the Bowman family. Your loved one is a true hero. We too have been in your shoes. Our son LCpl Jon Eric Bowman was killed on Oct. 9, 2006. If there is not a kinship by name there truly is a kinship by our heros dedication, to our country. They gave their life so that we are able to live in a free land. Know that we will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. May God be with you in your time of need.

I don't think I ever knew Robby. I was a few years ahead of him. I am glad to see our troops are being remembered. Through my time in the service I know I met people that were willing to serve and protect doing anything necessary to keep our country safe. This sounds like the type of person Robby was. My thoughts go out to the family. Just remember he will always be a hero not to just us, but to anyone that lives in this country and to all future generations. Be proud and speak of him as often as you can. Remember the best and happiest times. Stay strong. Michelle, good luck on your climb.

My deepest sympathy to all of the Bowman family. I cannot know what you are going through but I do know that without men like your son, Robby, life as we know it would not exist. Thank you for raising such a fine young man who answered his call to duty and served our nation with pride. We tend to throw the word "Hero" around too casually these days. Robby exemplifies what Hero was originally intended to mean. May God wrap all of you in his tender loving arms as you go through this most difficult time.

I know that Robby is smiling down on us all from the heavens. The 1st time I met him was at his wedding w/Michell. It seemed like a celebration of life. It was the best wedding I ever attended. We talked about the service because I too had served. My wife talked about how he picked up & took a trip to Daytona Beach & how his long legs where cramped in the back because she was moving back to NC, so he offered to drive. He surely impacted everybody in life & also in death!!! God Bless Him

My heart breaks for all of you. Robby's Aunt Janice has often shared her love and pride for her "special" nephew with me. My niece and nephew were very proud of their cousin. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for sharing Robby for the safety our country. He will always be remembered as a hero.

My deepest condolensces to the Bowman families. Although I did not know Robby, I believe from what I read he exemplifies the type of man we would want our children to look up to and emulate. He is a hero in a world of so few heros. May God keep you all in the shadow of his wing.

Please accept my Deepest and most heartfelt sympathy regarding the loss of Sgt. Larry R. Bowman.
The price this Brave Soldier and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.
There is so much thanks to be given, to these young heroes, for their Courage, Dedication and Service.

May Larry rest safely in God's Care and may God's Loving Grace Bless the Bowman family.
I am the sister of such a young hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago.

"Wait on the Lord, be of good courage
and He shall strengthen your heart"
~ Psalm 27:14 ~

May the Peace of God and your memories of Larry, remain in your heart always.
May this give you comfort and strength through the difficult days ahead.

Hope is not only the light we carry within...
It is also, what often carries us through...

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
