Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Christopher Edward Murphy US Army Corporal.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,

I know Christopher passed away eight years ago but i literately just found out today due to the fact that I have been out of touch from everyone back home for a very long time. I knew the murphy/bennett family when i was way younger in highschool. our familys did boy scouts together back on cape cod. and our familys were friends. I remember going on a camping trip with the murphys and chris will and I sitting by the camp fire eating aunt sharrons home made clam chowder. good memories from a very long time ago. I was a very good friend of christophers sister Shawna as well. i kinda fell off the map for a long time due to personal reasons but I wanted to take the time to write this and just to pay my condolences to the family. I am soo soo saddend to hear of this and I wish the family peace. i remember chris as a very happy out going guy always with a big smile on his face :) my deepest sympathys forever remembered never forgotten

My name is Wil Bennett. I am Chris Murphy's younger brother. Its been almost 3 years since he was taken from us...and it still hurts like i just found out yesterday...i miss him. One thing that i will always be eternally gratefully for, is that i had an opportunity to speak to him on the phone 2 days before he died. I remember thinking at the time how unusual it was, since everytime he called he never wanted to talk to me. however, this time it was different. we spoke for almost 45 minutes. the longest phone conversation i ever had with him. Mostly talking about nothing important at all, but ill never forget the last thing I ever said to him. I told him, "chris, i love you, everyone loves you, and were real proud of you for what youre doing over there. just please make sure you come home safe."
It was the first time in my life i ever told him i loved him, and i am so grateful for that opportunity..ive read every article from this guestbook, and from the bottom of my heart i want to thank you all. its so nice to now that people are thinking about him, even people he didnt know(he looooved attention lol). thank you guys so much!

I would like to contact others concerning Chris but cannot do so because the Guestbook requires an email. I am sorry if this is too invasive.

I created this email expressly for these purposes.

Thank you for using this for Chris's purposes.

Please, please tell me he is Not Forgotten.... May in 2007... it is 2009.

Is it just me? His Mom?

Please don't tell me so because I will counter that ALL our veterans need to be remembered. NOT JUST CHRIS.

Please don't forget him.... I know his name won't be there...

But his sacrifice and as of so many others should live on.

When you watch a TV show tonight, know you are free to do so because of our veterans.

Truthfully, yes, I miss Chris, but I have learned in the aftermath that there are sooooo many soldiers in wars out there before him that sacrificed.

I will always:
Buy that little flower that they offer for Veterans.
Salute those and honor those flags that are everywhere on Memorial Day.
Honor the flag.
Remember all the Veterans: Not Just Chris
Continue to complete Chris in Honor for community projects.

Please do so. Fly the flag.

Remember.

I will let this site go....it is the way of all things... but I will say this as his Mom.

SGT Green of Bedford gave me the greatest honor of naming his cadet program in Chris' name.

It's not the flags that flew over the White House. It's not the dinner I turned down with President Bush. It's not the accolades according to him....

It's you....

Just you.

Remember him and do something special for sommeone in you life in his name. Just once.

You will reap rewards.

Love,

I am Corpral Fst Class Murphy's Mother. To all, I Thank each and evey one of you. I must admit that I do still hurt and it's taken be about a year to even come to grips with missing my son. He died bravely and I do acknowledge that I do accept that but I do admit that I am humbly still missing my son....it is something that I still have to come to admit despite his sudden acceptance of the news. Thank You to all that have supported his memory.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Christopher, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Dear Darryl, Rose , Shawna, Will, and Jimmy,

I am honored to have been present at the memorial services for this fine, brave young soldier. I regret not having met Christopher before now, but you have so generously shared him with all who were present this last weekend. He placed love of country, the mission, and his comrades above self. Although his time here was brief, he left a lifetime of love.

My condolences during this saddest of times,

May 28, 2007

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

God bless all of you throughout the coming week as you honor Christopher for the great sacrifice he has made for his country. I, too, have a son in Iraq just a few miles south of yours in Iskandariyah. I agonize over every press release that mentions any town in that triangle. I am so sorry that my relief when the unit involved was finally announced was at the expense of your family. I have read the local articles and seen you on the tv and I want to commend you for the peace and strength that you have shown. It honors both Christopher and God. Your son was a man of courage--a true American hero.

I used to wonder how a person got through losing a child. Last October 18, I found out. My oldest son and namesake was killed in a commercial fishing accident (60) nautical miles south of the Aleutian Islands in the North Pacific. Family, friends, compassionate people, but most of all a loving and merciful God gets you through.

I know all about waiting for the body of a son to get home for burial. After (9) agonizing days my son was home. It may sound weird, but it was comforting to see him. Of a crew of (4) there was (1) survivor. One young man's body was never recovered. I suspect you will experience the same relief when your son gets home.

Today's young people are a different breed. They take chances and go in harm's way. My son loved life. He worked hard, played hard, and died hard. Yet he was doing something he loved. My son and I knew his job was dangerous. Sound like anyone you know? I'm sure you and your son knew the danger of being in Iraq. I know my son was happy at what he did. If he had lived to be an old man - he truely could have said - "I've been there -done that". Sound like anyone you know?

While our sons died differently - (2) young men are gone. Let's find comfort in the fact that they're both with their God in Heaven and safe forever from the storms of life and that on a GREAT DAY we'll see them again.

God's blessings on all of you - may you find strength and comfort always in Him.

To the family and friends of Pfc Christopher E. Murphy I offer my deepest sympathy and coldolences. I did not know your Christopher but I know the type of young man he was, a great American Hero. We lost our only son PFC Richard P Langenbrunner in Rustamiyah Iraq on April 17, 2007. We are still in shock over our son's death and the range of emotions is overwhelming. There are no words to bring you comfort and no actions to relieve the pain and grief you are enduring. The days ahead will be difficult but with the love and support of family, friends and God you will find the strength needed to press on. Rest assured your son is in the loving arms of our Lord, smiling down on all of us. Don't be afraid to grieve for you great loss but more importantly don't be afraid to smile when you think of the happy memories you have of Christopher. We will never "get over" this loss but we can learn to live with the grief we fell. May God bless you and keep you safe during this terrible time in your lives.

The price Pfc. Christopher E. Murphy and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.
Please know how Deeply Sorry I am to learn of the loss of your Brave Young Soldier.

May Christopher rest safely in the Loving Care of God and may the Grace and Comfort of the Lord be with the Murphy family.
There will Never Be Enough Ways to Humbly Thank these Heroes for their Supreme Sacrifice, my brother among them. Killed in action in Vietnam in 1967.

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that shall be revealed in us."
~ Romans 8:18 ~

May you find Peace in knowing the love and memories you have, will remain in your heart forever and that this Country Will Not Forget Christopher's Sacrifice.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
