In memory of James. Remembering his love and loyality to family and friends, his sense of humor, the way he could turn a simple daily event into a funny story, taking his children with him whenever he could, his concern for those who do not have our freedoms. But most importantly, his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his desire to live for Christ. James always said, "I don't talk, I do" and he was always concerned that his life would be a testimony for God. While we miss him here, we know that we will see him again in the presence of our Lord and we will have all eternity to catch up.

Remembering James today: His laugh, his smile, his bright blue eyes - his love for God, family, and country - the way the children followed him - his dedication and sacrifice.
FREEDOM IS NOT FREE! it is won and maintained by the brave men and women who are willing to defend it. THANK YOU to all those who serve to maintain our freedom, to those who have served, and to those, like James, who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you to those who honor his memory by following in his footsteps. Thank you for your courage:
His cousin- James Dunckley - US Coast Guard
His cousin - Robert Eichmann - who plans to be a marine

Sgt. Allen James Dunckley: "The one thing I believe in, above all else is love. I love my Savior, my family, my freedom, and my friends. Most people view love as a word of emotion. I view love as an act of commitment. My act of love is my service in the military protecting and preserving all the things I believe in most, so that my children, family, and friends can enjoy true freedom. I've seen war first hand, and have met people that have never known any of the freedoms we take for granted and I never want that for the people I care for most. Semper-Fi."

H.D. Lawrence: "Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. and their grandchildren are once more slaves."

James,
It's been a year since you been gone but it still doesn't seem real to me. It feels like i could just wake up tomorrow and see your smiling face in my house again. You weren't just a friend of the family to me, you were like a brother to me. You showed so much love and compassion towards me no matter how annoying i could get as a little kid. You always told me how beautiful i am in god's eyes and yours. You went to iraq to fight for me, jen, and all of america, and for that you're truly a hero. but even before you fought, you were always a hero in my eyes. the last couple years before you died, my family wasn't as close to you as we should have been and i would do anything to undo that. i dont wish you back for your sake because i know you're much happier now. but for my sake, i wish i could see you one more time. i love you and miss you more than anything else in the world. i cant wait to see you again in heaven! <33

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know James, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Jen,
I just want you to know that James got me to where I am today. He was the one who first told me bout the Marines, and that's why I'm in the service now.
To me, he's a true American hero. I know it's taken me much to long to write this, but I considered James to be family, and he gave me much advice about being a family man in the Marines.
Well, that's all I have. Semper Fi.

Jen,

I was reading Allen's Guet Book, and I was deeply touched! I read and saw how he was a God-fearing man and the influence he has had on people. I thank God because "...Allen will never suffer nor know pain again..." I thank God because He has "...wiped away all the tears from Allen's eyes..."

I have been in the Ministry since 1979, and in 2004 God blessed me with a "personalized" tape ministry for our Troops. I consider it an honor to do what I do. There are not enough days or ways to say "thank you" for all the sacrifices!

I will FOREVER "Salute" Allen James Dunckley!

Jen, "...earth has no sorrow that Heaven cann't heal..." I am trusting God to restore you joy and give you the peace that surpasses all understanding. May the Angels of God be forever encamped around you, Joshua, and Hannah. May our God forever bless the parents and extended family of Allen.

Stay strong and encouraged!

James,
You are truely a great man. I know this because I see it in my daughters eyes everytime I look at her. You have taken a shy young girl and made her a strong and beautiful woman and Mother. Your persistance in standing up for what you believe and raising your family in the Lord is truely evedient in Jen's life as well as Josh and Hannah. Josh has NO fear and want's to be just like his Dad...and he will be. He will be strong... a teacher...a leader.., and yet loving and always willing to help in a time of need, never straying from his faith. Hannah will grow to be just like her Mother. Beautiful, Loving & caring, and also strong in her faith.
I guess I am writing this because I have never had the chance to thank you for being the wonderful husband and father that you were. Not to mention the great Brother-in-Law you were to Dave and Steve and Son-in-Law you were to us. You have helped them through some difficult times in their lives and us as well, and have made us strong.
We will love you and miss you. We think of you every day.
You are a true Hero!

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

I am a cousin of Allan's father as my mother is Catherine Dunckleys sister Doris.

I never meet Allan or his Dad. My mother told me about Allan when I went to the nursing home to visit her. She was very concerned about her sister Catherine as she always
thought so much of her but lost touch over the years.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and I feel a loss never to have met Allan as my own sons are close to his age. I will always be grateful to him for his love of God, family and the ultimate sacrifice he has given our country. I will see you in Heaven Allen. In Christ, Connie Pace(Palmer)

I too knew Sgt. Dunckley when he was known as Jamie. We went to church together and were baptized by his father on the same day. I thank God that we have young men and women who selflessly seek to serve this nation. Sgt. Dunckley's sacrifice must not be forgotten. He paid the ultimate price for the precious freedoms we enjoy. He is now in the presence of the loving God who did the very same for us. May God bless the Dunckley family.

I remember him as Jamie. I went to church with him for a year when he was about 13. At the time he was a boy of few words but I could tell that he thought much. After attending his service on Thursday, I left feeling like I knew him all my life. And I wish I had. Pastor and Mrs. Dunckley,Jen,and the rest of the family: my heart breaks with yours. Yet we rejoice that he has entered a place prepared for him by his Heavenly Father, and oh how precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. James has fought his last battle. And as you told me by the casket on Thursday, "it was a victorious one." He'll battle no more. He's won his wars. Heaven now sings a welcome song; another soldier is coming home.

As one American who has kept our military in thought and prayers all this time since 9/11 I offer my deepest sympathy on your great loss.
This is such a personal loss for your family and friends but our country honors and respects all your efforts on behalf of our nation and the freedom that does not come free.
What bravery it takes to leave the comforts of home and family to go and do what he feels a calling to do.
We can rest easy here in this country because of our young defenders.
May he rest in God's loving arms
on this Memorial Day.

God Bless America. Home of the brave.

I met James when he was about 8 years old. He was a cute little boy who skated with me and he loved his family and life. James died fighting for my freedom and for every American's freedom. I don't feel worthy but he fought for everyone without judging them. He made a difference. He's in a better place now but it's okay to miss him while we wait to meet up with him again. I am so so sorry for your family's loss Allen, Mae, Jessica, Jennifer, Jennifer, Joshua and Hannah. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

It is with the deepest sadness that I ask the family and friends of this brave young Soldier to accept the offer of my most sincere and heart felt condolences. I hope that you know that your loss is shared and mourned by millions of Americans. Most of whom you don’t know and in all probability will never meet. We sincerely appreciate the sacrifices made by your patriot.

Freedom is not free; it is paid for by our heroes, and for those who fight for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know! This soldier made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

WE MUST NEVER FORGET!!

I know the pain parents feel when they loose a child. I lost a son 19 years ago. It is a pain that defies description. It is a pain that never goes away. It is a pain that will never end. It is a pain that is all consuming.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

May God Bless and keep you today, tomorrow and forever!

Rest in Peace brave soldier; you did your duty with great honor, dedication, distinction and in the highest traditions of our great country.
