GENESIA M. GRESHAM Celebration of Life Remembered Services for E-3 Seaman Genesia M. "Snowflake" Gresham will be held Monday, October 29, 2007, 11:00 A. M. at Antioch East Baptist Church, 1223 Hardee Street, Atlanta, GA, with remains placed in state at 9:30 A. M., Reverend John Williams, Pastor, Reverend Alexander Floyd, Officiating. Interment Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Decatur, GA. She is survived by mother, Natalie Gresham; father, Joseph Webb; grandmother, Mattie Gresham; brothers, Marques Moreland and Ezra Gresham; sister, Ashlee Gresham; sister-in-law, Mariah Moreland; nieces, Mariah and Massiah Moreland; nephews, Marques Moreland, Jr. and Markeith Moreland, a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Family will assemble at 3484 Deer Trace, Lithonia at 10:00 A. M.: Donald Trimble Mortuary, Inc., 1876 Second Avenue, (404) 371-0772-3.

I have been in the Ministry since 1979, and in 2004 God blessed me with a "personalized" tape ministry for our troops. I did not know Genesia, but if I had, she would have been one of mine. I have learned never to question God. He is God alone, and "...all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose..." God alone sets the appointment with death.

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To her family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss her, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by her presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.

My name is Paul Washington. I am a Master arms instructor at lackland AFB. I was one of several instructors who had the priviledge to have her as a student of the Navy's physical Security/law enforcement academy. I came to know her as a woman of strong convictions and a willingness to seek and absorb instruction. After her graduation she stopped by to thank me for leading her thru our curriculum. I told her that her attitude and work ethic would have the Navy eating out of the palm of her hand. We have lost a talented and spirited woman. Gresham, Esquilva, and Long. The three of us were together from bootcamp to "A" school. We shared so many memories together. In bootcamp learning When To Wash Our Hands to "A" school yelling 120 Straight To The Top! After being with someone from sun up to sun down, it's hard to believe that they are no longer with us. To the Gresham family, I recently left Bahrain, and I’m still in total shock. Words can not express how I feel. Life is short and you have to enjoy every minute, because you never know how long GOD has you on this earth for. While working in security I always believe people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. SOMETIMES THEY ACT UP AND FORCE YOU TO TAKE A STAND. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up or an unexpressed wish has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it…it is real. But only for a season!
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. Genesia, I must say you taught me to keep a smile on my face when things were going bad. May you rest in peace.

We love you & we miss you! To the family, I didn't work with Nesi (I work in medical). But, I knew Nesi. Whenever I would see her & we would talk it was all smiles & laughs & we always talked about playing spades ever since she got here. She told me how good she was & I hate that we never got to play spades 'cause she worked nights for most of the time. But, even beyond that she was a good person & much loved. My condolences & prayers go out to you............the family & friends.

I’m send my deepest condolences to the entire Gresham family and friends. I recently just left Bahrain and I worked directly with your daughter and when I heard about this incident, I was in complete shock. Charlie section was her extend family, and we are all at a lost. Please accept this poem/prayer from the Gray family:
Heavenly Father give us peace within our storm. You called our baby Genesia home. We promise not to question you, not with one word. You took our baby to fly with the birds. She’s up in heaven under your constant care. Her life was cut short and it aint fair. But Psalm 34.1 says I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Our praises will continue to go up and your blessings will continue to come down. Amen.

Nesi was a person that really didnt care who you were or what you were about, she wouldnt judge you.She made your day brighter with her smile.she was a big sister to me. she was talented and beautiful.I thank her mother for bringing such a beautiful person into this world.

Im so sorry for the lost of Snowflake.She was truly a wonderful young lady that many people know and lover the moment that they saw her. She will be missed and in everyone heart she will stay. Genesia & I went to middle school together, and even now, I remember her zest for life and her positive energy and attitude, despite everything. She was always the first one to crack a joke & make the class laugh. She truly touched my life and I will forever carry the lessons she taught with me.
To her family: I'm sure there are no words that can comfort you, but I hope that her exuberance & love for life is something that will bring a small smile to your face during this time.

We would like to express our sincere sympathy to the enire family of Genesia Gresham. We have a female family member who received orders for 6 months of duty in Bahrain. When we heard the news we did not know if she had arrived or not, we began to pray for her and all of the other females who are serving our country because we are all family. I know that this tragedy has left you with a void, but we must still glorify God and know that in time he will heal our hearts and give us peace through the trials. Snowflake was a fellow NJROTC classmate of mine, and she will be missed by those who loved her the most.
