Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this month and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Marius L. Ferrero US Army Private 1st Class.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,

May the comfort from family and friends continue to strengthen you, and may you find comfort in the words found in the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. "You risked your life for others

Each and every day

Understanding and accepting the potential cost

That someday you might pay

For such is the path of a Hero

A terrain where only the brave would choose to go

For 'tis like a mountain pass, narrow and rugged

Far removed from the peaceful vally down below

Yet you walked that difficult path daily

Seeing harsh things, while doing such good

And we loved and respected your courage

More than you understood

And you were a blessing to countless people

Through your selfless and courageous deeds ..."

In Memory of Marius ~ (Debra Estep)

November 18, 2008

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Marius, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

June 20, 2008

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the Ferrero family,

I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Marius' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.

...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

I have no idea who your son was, but I would like to thank him for first of all serving our country and second, for being such a brave soldier. Many turn their backs on the opportunity to serve this country and even though we may agree or disagree with the decision to go to war, he served us proud. My families’ deepest condolences go out to all your family members and friends that are grieving the loss. May God Bless.

Dear Bolo: I am hoping and praying that you are peaceful next to God in heaven along with your Dad and Grandparents. I remember the good times we had together in Naples and going to the beach and all the birthdays and Christmas holidays we had together. You will always be in my heart, mind and soul. I wish that this was a bad dream. This should not have happen to such a good hearted kid like you. We understand that this is what you wanted to do and died doing what you liked doing. We will see each other again some day and be at the side of our Father in heaven. I pray for your brother Manny, Grandma Modesta, Mother Maribel and your Aunt Carmita to have peace each and everyday. I know that you are up in the sky looking over all of us each and every day. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have known you even though we had you for a little bit. Thank you for being our HERO!!!

Chaplain Dan Gates, Georgia Society SAR,

With the deepest regret, I have just learned of the death of Private First Class Ferrero. As a Vietnam Veteran and the State Chaplain of the Georgia Society, Sons Of The American Revolution, I speak for our President, Charlie A. Newcomer, III and the more than 1,400 SAR members around the State of Georgia in humbly expressing the condolences of a grateful Society. Wrapped in the integrity of service to our nation and the inestimable values of duty, honor and country, your American hero stood on a wall of freedom for us all. This precious life, lived and lost in love of America, epitomized every attribute of patriotism the Sons Of The American Revolution hold dear. And, as Americans, we could never repay the debt we owe ..!! Nor the debt we owe you… the family of one of America's best ...!!!

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

Bolo, I still can't believe that this is happening and that you are gone. You will never be forgotten. You were such a caring and giving child growing up. I will always remember the good times we had at my mom and dad's (your grandparents) house in Naples while you were growing up. All those memories will be forever in my mind. These past 8 days have been one of the hardest in my life. But, I have to say that I have comfort in my heart knowing that you are in heaven with your dad and grandparents at the side of God as his angel. I know that you will be by our side to comfort us in our sorrow and sadness everyday of the rest of our lives. I also know that you will be smiling down on us all from heaven.

It is amazing how many lives you touched in your short ride on earth. It has been an honor to have been your auntie. I just wish that you, me, uncle Sammy, Cassi, Beaner and Aaron would had had more time together in this life. My heart aches knowing that we won't see you again until we meet in heaven, but I feel comfort in my heart knowing that you are around us in spirit every moment. I surely will miss you and that awesome smile that you have.

I wish I was there to talk to you before you left, I wish i could have been closer instead of so far away, Im sorry Marius for not giving my time or at least the few minutes to make a call or at least try to guide you thru the decision you had made, lets all just remenber that time is short and we need to keep each other close because you never know what could happen the next day, I Love you all and I will never be out of sight again, I love you Marius and thank you for setting the example and bringing to light whats important. We will miss you Flaco. SEMPER FIDELIS

MAY GOD BE WITH EACH MEMBER OF YOUR FAMILY. WHEN THERE IS ONLY ONE SET
OF FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND HE IS CARRYING YOU. WE LOST A DAUGHTER AND WITHOUT GOD WE WOULD HAVE NOT MADE IT THROUGH... REMEMBER ALL THE
GOOD TIMES AND THE SMILES AND THE LAUGHTER. AS I LOOK AT THE PICTURES OF MARIUS I SEE A HAPPY AND CARING YOUNG MAN. MAY GOD HOLD YOU ALL IN HIS ARMS AND GIVE YOUR COMFORT.

I never met Pfc. Ferrero. Coincidentally, a friend of mine went to high school with him and spoke very highly of him. He passed away doing what he loved and he has been a hero to this country and every citizen of this country, since the day he signed up for the Army. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I never met Pfc. Ferrero, but the fact that he was a hero is overwhelmingly evident. I hope the family can take some small comfort in knowing that their son, grandson, brother, boyfriend, cousin has touched the lives of strangers. Even those of us who were not blessed to know Marius in life still grieve and are pained by the loss of this fine young man. God be with and comfort you.

We will all miss you!!! Love your family and friends in Ft Lewis..

I am saddened to hear of the loss of Pfc. Ferrero. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Words can not express the sorrow you must be feeling. Remember that he is truly an American hero who was fighting for a great cause. Fighting for the downtrodden and weak, trying to give them a taste of freedom that we in America often take for granted. Thank you Pfc. Ferrero for your service to our country and for securing the freedom for me and my family. You will never be forgotten.
