PJ and I played baseball together growing up. He was the kind of person you wanted on your team, knew how to have fun and when to be serious. When I heard about this back when it happened it was heartbreaking, still is. All these years later though, he's the one I think of on Memorial Day, on 9-11, basically whenever I think of great people who lost their lives in service of our nation, particularly from my generation. He's definitely not forgotten.

I always stand taller on Memorial Day, Because its the day this Country honors my brother, and his family for your and their ultimate sacrifice, I do slouch sometimes in tears during the day, than I hear you tell me you wouldn't have done it any differently. As I sit here typing in tears, so proud, yet so mad sometimes at God on why he chose you. This weekend brings me a little closure. Your my hero, you always will be, we called you superman from your mom to me to Mikey to Grandy, you where born to be a hero. My proudest emotion is when I get to tell the story of our friendship to people, our path from 4 years old to how we became brothers, family. The laughter people laugh, the dumbfounded looks I get (we didn't make best choices, but you always got us outta it) our sports stories, our work at modern air, and our last night at Mitch's, talking for 4 hours, right before you left. And I tell them how you left us. They all respond, he is superman. I love you brother, still miss you everyday.

I still think about you all the time. But I know your with our Lord and Savior. Life is just not the same without you. I still live with hurt by not being at your service, I know you have forgiving me, but I was never as strong as you emotionally, I couldn't accept you where gone. I still have trouble doing it. This is the last poem that i wrote that PJ read. I read this poem at his funeral, it was one of the hardest things i ever did.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.

There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
