Sometimes when i think about you, i dream about you. I feel as though you are just stopping by to say hi. I will never forget all of our memories. Hey sweetheart,
The kids and I are doing ok as you already know cause you are watching over us each and everyday. I had a dream about you the other night and Shaun it was so nice. We had a great conversation and you look sexy as always. I could feel your lips pressed against mine I could feel your warm arms wrapped around mine. Sweetheart it was very nice, I didn't even want to wake up. I look forward to the day that we can sit side by side, hand in hand and lips pressed against each other again. We miss you and love you so much. Looking forward to that perfect day in the beautiful blue sky with you my love.. Your wife always and forever Mrs. Shaun Paul Tousha :)

Shaun, I never realized how much your crazy advice worked until when I need it the most. I still catch myself picking up the phone to call you. I know that I could call Christy anytime, but for some reason, it just doesn't seem to help as much as hearing it from you. She seems to have picked up on some of your advice!!! We all truly miss and love you very much... The girls are always asking about their Uncle Shaun. I think back to that dreadful day that we got the news and remember having to tell Briteny Beth that her Uncle Shaun wasn't coming home. That was one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do. But, things are better now and I think she understands. She is getting so big, they all are. You would be so proud of them... All three girls are on the honor roll at school.. Ok... I have to close now... We love you and miss you so much.....

May 24, 2009

This is the first time I have written any thoughts down about Shaun Paul. This is harder than I thought.

Its been over a year since I got the call from Christy to tell me what happened. I remember every detail about I was doing. I rushed over right away Shaun as I knew you would have done If roles were reversed. Buddy I was then in mere minutes. I have been helping out ever since. You and I remember what we told each other before you left this tour just like the tour before. I will always honor it no matter what.

I am proud to be called a friend, a brother in arms and the Yankee that was picked on everyday! :) I will not fail my mission you tasked me with Sgt. Never Quit, Never Accept Defeat, Never Leave a Fallen Comrade or Family. I know you'll watch over all of us and all your family across the Great Country.

The Memorial at Fort Hood where your Plaque is with other Great Americans who gave the greatest sacrifice is awesome and humbling. The ceremony on th 21st of May this Year made me cry. I never knew how many of my fellow soldiers that I interacted with many times were on that memorial. Too many..

I'll be going down to the cemetery reunion next month where you body was rested. So many emotions are finally surfacing after all this time.

Take care buddy. I know you are watching over your kids. They miss you allot.

Shaun Paul Tousha, I will never and have never forgotten you. You were a great Soldier and friend. I don't remember who was at the unit first but I enjoyed every minute I ever got to work with you and spend time with you. There are a few things I will never forget. I won't forget our bon fires on the road with Andy. LOL I won't forget all the times we watched Varsity Blues and the number of times I asked you to quote so much of that movie. Can hardly watch it anymore. I will also remember you always for all you taught me and all the help you gave on my truck in 2003 when they left me with the worst truck ever. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't know what a rear differential was. I saw Costa a few times. He misses you too. We were reminiscin at Ernies. Right next to Wild Country or whatever it is. I will forever remember your snoots. The sneaker boots. LOL Well, Shaun I have had so much to say and am able to get it out here. You are truely missed by all. You were one of the only Soldiers I remember getting along with almost everyone. Not too many disliked you and that was cause of your whitty humor, your smarts and your whatever attitude. We love and miss you so much. Can't wait to see you again. Tell Chief hi! I know he is with you. We miss him too!

I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Shauns' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.

...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Shaun, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I am the loving mother of a beautiful son who served with Tousha in Iraq on two tours, Spc Jonathan C. Neelley. My son's 1st tour was when he was 18. He just turned 18, went into basic, AIT, desert training and then Iraq. He met Tousha, who was a few years older, they became friends and have been ever since. Tousha helped him over there and I am so greatful for that. My daughter Alex, went roller skating w/Tousha, his wife, my son, Bobby Danny and a couple of others, a few yrs ago and still talks about that evening of those well trained army guys getting so whipped by those roller skates. I think a couple of them got kind of torn up. That is a beautiful funny memory my daughter will always have of those very brave young men and I am glad for that. Your family will be in our prayers always. Again, from my family to yours, please except our deepest condolences, Tousha will be deeply missed.

Father we entrust our brother Shaun to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Shaun in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

I served with this fine gentleman when I was stationed at Fort Hood, TX. When I arrived at the unit I was expecting a non commissioned officer to give me the run down of what my scope of work would be, he stepped up and showed me. He had a big heart and was protective of his friends, fellow soldiers, family and all of America. He was a leader from Day 1. Shaun was the type of person who will take the time to personally know every little thing about you, from knowing when it's a bad day for you or knowing when to call and rub it in because he knows you're upset by his Dallas Cowboys routing your favorite team. That's what I, personally, will miss about my Sunday afternoons. Shaun had the personality that would light up any room. To the family, you have my greatest condolences. Thanks for the support you gave him and I wish you the best. Shaun, I would like to say thanks, it was a pleasure to serve with you, and I know you're still watching over us and protecting freedom for all.
