Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

To seterias' family, I am so sorry for your loss,seteria was a sweet person and a great friend,i will miss her smile and talking to her. She was so beautiful inside and out and she will be missed..

ROBIN STEWART, SGT

August 19, 2008

I knew Seteria as a Soldier and a friend station at Ft. Carson, CO. As I read the entries in her guess book of her bright smile, all I can say is that they are right it was contagious. Seteria was always willing to help anyone in need . As a Food Service Sergeant I knew that if I needed something done I could count on her. Even though Seteria was only 21 at the time she assisted my husband and I with the purchase of our first home. Seteria was there for me during that stressful time, she reassured me that she would be there with us to the end and she was at the CLOSING.

I was devastated to hear of her passing and the loss to her family and daughter. To lose a beautiful person so young and determined to love and care for others. My thoughts and prayers are with Seteria’s family. I consider myself BLESSED to have known her and call her my friend. I miss you "DIVA"

Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free

I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor

I met Brown when I was in Talafar. We was both from Alabama (country) and we had sooo much in common. The funny thing is that when I first met her she was like why are you always mad and I asked her why are you always smiling...then we just fell outttt laughing. I used to go to her room and to her job just to chat with her because she always had that smile and some encouraging words. This is a tragedy and I wish this never happened. This young lady was full of life....I love and miss you Brown...Why did you have to leave without me saying good bye. I did not even know you went back into the military. The last time I seen you was in Colorado and you and your daughter met me at the nail shop to get our nails and toes done...I miss you smile..Rest now...See you soon..

To the family and parents of Seteria I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you.

ABSOLUTELY not. He is in the arms of our Lord--"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. Tracy,

I have only known you for two weeks as we met at Fort Lewis at AT when I learned you lived in Alabama, I felt I had met a friend and sister yes, we hung out at Dairy Queen eating Ice Cream sundaes knowing well we had better pass our APFT and at times just merely talking in the barracks and sharing life stories. I wish to express my words of life for the death of your cousin, as Blood washed believers we do not look at Death as the end, rather the beginning so we are not without hope. She is praising the Holy creator for deliverance. It matters not how or why she departed this life the way she did. What really matters is she is with the King. When I spoke with you yesterday, Thursday, August 7, 2008 and you informed me that once you had arrived back to Alabama from Fort Lewis, Washington AT you had buried your cousin, I couldn’t wait to view the obits. I view them almost daily; it’s to see how blessed I am to remain in the land of the living and it is a constant reminder to not sweat the small stuff. People are losing their lives daily and I wish to offer my thoughts and prayers for you and your family and I am so sorry that she had to leave this life at such a young age. May God grant you peace and closure in the years’ to come and when the birthdays, holidays etc., come you can celebrate her life; rather than mourn with sorrow. Although, I didn’t have the opportunity to meet Seteria personally, she was my sister and friend in Arms. The Holy scripture clearly declares IF we (believers) die in Him; to be absent from this earthly body we ARE present with Him, that is our Blesseth hope through Jesus Christ. She is with the Prince of Peace Glory to his Name!

If you need anything and you know I mean it from my heart, girl you know you can hit me on the cell. I don’t know if Alabama has a Dairy Queen but we can find one.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Spc. Seteria Brown our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Seteria. And to Seteria it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made in combat while serving the U.S. Army and his country. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Seteria, you are a brave Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,409 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Seteria’s family and loved ones.
