Belated regards. I worked with Sidney in California, then visited him in Belgium. He was one of the most priests I have ever known.

My family was very close to Monsignor Marceaux from 97-99 at SHAPE, Belgium, where I was an Army LTC. My wife Mary was Director of his CCD program and our oldest son Zack was his favorite altar boy. He always seemed to enjoy my critique of his outstanding sermons. Father spend Christmas 98 at our house; what a happy afternoon/evening that was! We loved this great man dearly. There is no doubt he took the fast track to heaven!

I was a csc student brother and sidney was a lay student at St. Ed's back in the late 50s and early 60s. We would speak with each other every now and then and little did we know that our lives would once again meet as older men. We both became priests and canon lawyers and would serve on the board of directors of the canon law society of america.
Recently, I learned of Monsignor Sidney's death. I remember him as a kind, considerate, always attentive and always faithful priest. I enjoyed his sense of humor and his dedication to duty. As one who made the long trip through life with Monsignor Marceaux, I will always remember him where at counts: at the altar of God. May his shepherd's soul rest in the peace of the Good Shepherd. Sid Marceaux was the epitome of the Army Chaplain. He served our Soldiers on 3 continents in places that were too terrible to describe. I was forunate to serve with Sid twice. His keen mind and his wonderful sense of humor delighted Soldiers from Private to General. We will miss him. May he rest in God's peace and may the light of The Risen Savior guide him on his journey to His heavenly kingdom

Colonel Marceaux was an exceptional priest, soldier and person! He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We first knew him as our priest where he trained our children to be altar servers, celebrated our youngest daughters 1st Communion and baptized our niece. He stayed in touch through emails while our oldest son was deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq to both our son and us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. We take comfort in all of the wonderful memories that we have and in knowing that he is in heaven watching over all of us.

To the family and parents of Sidney I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you

I had the honor to serve with Msgr. Marceaux in Japan for three years. Under his guidance, I served as the President of the Parish Counsel. I am also an Active Duty member of the Army, and learned so much from Chaplain Marceaux. Additionally, he presided over my wedding. I am so grateful for having been blessed to work with/for Chaplain Marceaux, and I know for a fact that countless Soldiers around the world join you in mourning his loss. I know that his soul is at peace in the Kingdom of the Lord. May God ease your pain as you mourn your brother. Please know that he was loved by all who knew him.

To the family of Fr. Marceaux: (He asked to be called Fr. instead of Msgr.)Please accept our heart felt expressions of sympathy. Fr. Marceaux was in Sour Lake for a time and that's where I got to know and love him. He married my husband and I in 1982. God is holding him in His hand as I write this. Please know that.

Dear Judy, Floyd and John,
I offer my heartfelt condolences to you, your entire family and to all who mourn the death of our beloved Sidney. I recall, with deep gratitude, Sidney's friendship. It was a profound blessing to me to talk with Sidney via phone when he arrived at Walter Reed, pray with Judy at Sidney's bedside and to celebrate the last rites with Sideny the day before he died. Your brother and the friend of so many of us gave his life in generous service to others. He offered his heart to care for the souls of us in Southeast, Texas and others throughout our world. I will miss my dear friend greatly and join with you in praying that God, our merciful Father, will grant your dear brother, Sidney, the reward of his many labors for Christ, the Church, our country and our world. May God welcome Sidney's noble soul to the joyful banquet table of heaven.
Until we are together at Arlington on 20 October my very special prayers for your comfort, consolation and strength in our Risen Lord.
My deep affection and heartfelt prayers

To the Marceaux family,
I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Sidneys' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.
...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

Sir, I just wanted to say thank you for your brave and honorable service to a grateful nation, a nation in mourning for our fallen hero’s. You like so many other sailors and soldiers chose to serve our nation when needed most and with your life you protected the very core of what America stands for. My nephew PFC Aaron J. Ward also made that sacrifice on 5/6/2008 when he was killed in action in Iraq. As I mourn for my nephew I mourn for you and so many other brave soldiers and know that you all will forever be in my thoughts and prayers, we as a nation will never forget you. I stand tall and salute you Sidney and from the bottom of my heart I thank you for the nights we at home could sleep without fear and know that we are safe. To the Marceaux family, words cannot express the pain we now share, but our families will forever have a bond and we will be thinking of Sidney and your family and will keep you in our thoughts & prayers. Please accept my heart felt condolences and my prayer that god help you cope with this tragic loss and may the memories of your HERO carry you through each day. From one Gold Star family to another!
