I remember when I worked with his mother, Myrna Germosen, in New York City in 1970-71 at a government agency on 44th Street. Our desks were across from each other. One day the school called to report that Scotty was missing. Myrna was in a panic and she ran to her boss -- they couldn't find Scotty. Then they found him and life was good again. Scotty was her whole life back then and always.

To the family and friends,
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies. Losing a loved on is the hardest thing in life. I am writing to not only express my sorrow for you but to let you know about a memorial I am working on. I am creating a quilt to honor the fallen soldiers from the New York City Area. Each soldier will have a panel created. I am inviting the friends and families to get involved. If you are interested or would like some more information please contact me at [email protected]

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Scott you were my best friend. We had some great times when you used to live in Central Islip, and when you moved we still managed to see each other. When we graduated from High School, you joined the Marines, and I joined the Navy, and thats when we lost touch with each other. I just wanted to tell you that I will never forget you or your friendship. My heart goes out to your mother, and your family. Tom

My commuting-friend Myrna always spoke of her son Scott and his family with such love and pride. It hurts to think that such a lovely woman and devoted mother lost her only child. My prayers always include Myrna, and I thank Scott everyday for his sacrifice in going after the bad guys.
