Eileene was born in Portland, Oregon to "Mac" and Jessie McArthur. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Victor J. Catania and sister, Jeanne. She is survived by daughters; Gail Oblinger, Vicki and husband, Dick Robertson, Marty, and husband, Truman Lakin, and Nancy and husband, Ray Scroggins. The 6 who called her "Gramalene" are Paul and Austin Sisemore, Linda Pozun, Rich and Tina Robertson, and Jeffrey Scroggins. She also has 7 great-grandchildren; Jesse Osenbaugh, Jeanette Eckert, Paul Sisemore, Rich, Raemi and Ryan Robertson, and LeAnne Pozun. She also has 4 great-great-grandchildren. Eileene is "Momalene" to Catrina Chen Lee. Eileene was a member of Canyon Hills Assembly of God Church, past and charter member of Women of Italian Heritage. The family would like to thank especially Esther Maese and Julia Lilly of The Gables where Mom lived for 5 years; her caregivers the past 8 months at Evergreen Healthcare and Dr. Frank Chang. Eileene graduated from Willows High School, Willows, CA in 1932. She met Vic while a college student in San Francisco. Eileene worked for the State of Calif., Camp Fire Girls and San Francisco Ship Yards at Treasure Island in WWII. Many times she mentioned that the raising of her children was her most satisfying job. She was an accomplished pianist who gave piano lessons, donated time at rest homes and with Bakersfield Community Theater. For fun Eileene liked to go to Greenhorn, the coast, travel, crochet, play pool, and Bible Study. She was a faithful intercessor prayer warrior and her greatest interest of all was things having to do with learning more about Jesus. Cremains will be at interred at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Services will be private. If you would like to make a donation in Eileene's name, give to a charity which she also donated to: Royal Family Kid's Camp, 1616 29th St., Bakersfield, CA 93301. Dear Marty and Truman,

I was so sorry to hear of your moms passing. I remember your parents visit to Alaska and how sweet they both were. From that time on we exchanged Christmas card and in the cards each year she always spoke so lovingly about her family. I know what a great loss this is to your whole family and those that knew her will feel such a sad loss. I am thinking of you at this time of sorrow.

With deep sympathy and love, Sharon, Danna and Jacob

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your mother while she was at the Gables. My mother was also a resident there and when I went to visit her I looked forward to visiting with Eileene as well, she always brought a smile to my face. I know your mother was lost to you many years ago but her physical passing is still hard to deal with. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

We didn't know your Mom but she sounds like a wonderful person. We know how difficult it is to lose your mother. Having an understanding of Alzheimer's, we know it is also a blessing when you know how much she loved Jesus. We thank God for the comfort and peace He is giving you and Truman during this time. In His Love.....

Marty, I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. But we know that at last she's really "Home." And I know you'll rejoice when you see her again. Reading the obituary, I can see a lot of your Mother's qualities in you, and you'll have that always.
