I had the wonderful privilege of being Ed's doubles partner and good friend for more than ten years. It is impossible to quantify how much he taught me about tennis and life. Ed loved tennis and life and shared his love for both with enormous enthusiasm. He was truly one-of-a-kind, who made a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Sorry to read about Ed. We knew each other as kids at Douglass Blvd. Christian Church a long time ago. He was quite a character as I recall!
Special sympathy to Roger whom I knew well from childhood.
I did not learn of Ed's death until today or I would have come out to the funeral home.
Sympathy to his family from my brother, Mark Johnson, and me.

So sorry to hear about Edwin. We were cousins, but had only ever contacted each other by phone a few years back via Roger. Nice to see that so many people thought so much of him, and I regret that I never took the opportunity to get to know him better. My thoughts and prayers go to his wife, Roger, Brent and the rest of the family.

Tuesdays on the tennis court will not be the same without you. Pick a good doubles partner in heaven. We will all miss you.

Edwin Davis - A great guy and friend and long time member of the Louisville tennis fraternity. A very fine tennis player with all the confidence one needed on the court. As unique as the summer day is long.
