David Stehly Obituary
David D. Stehly, 30 of Slatington, formerly of South Carolina, passed away March 11, 2007, from injuries received from a car accident. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Stephen and Sharon (Hoffman) Stehly of Slatington. He was a 1995 graduate of Northern Lehigh High School. David was a kitchen manager in a restaurant called Tailgaters in South Carolina. He served in the Army Reserve. Survivors: Parents; sisters, Lauri and Crystal Stehly, both of Slatington; fiancee, Carrie Balch and daughter Isabella Anne Stehly; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Patricia Stehly. David was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Daniel and Anna Hoffman. Services: 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, St. Johns Lutheran Church, 40 S. Second St., Slatington. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the church. Arrangements, Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington. Contributions: Isabella A. Stehly Fund, c/o the funeral home, PA 18080.

I am just here to tell you your girls are missing you. It´s been 17 years and it just flew by,just like how fast our little girl became a young woman. College after this summer, and I can´t imagine her not here. She got the best of you, even your sassy side!

David, you had a wonderful angel joining you this past Friday. Joanne Perich sadly lost her battle with cancer. Over the years we always joked how she got my "well behaved son" since her Andy and you were born on the same day in the same hospital. I know you were mine but it was fun to joke around. 12 years is far too long to miss your laugh, your smile, and your everything David.
They say it gets easier, but after 12 years I have figured it out. Every year it feels like somthing else. I light a candle here with Bell every year, shes gotten to the age that she doesn't want itnto go out.
She looks at the scrapbook I made her as well. Last night she said you and dad really loved each other huh? And I said so much that I can still remember the way he smells, his smile, and how much he loved you. She swore you were with us while the candle was lit.
We sure do miss you down here.
I put up new pics of Bella, I hope everyone can catch a glimpse of you in her. I do. Everyday.

David, Just posted a sympathy for an old boyfriend that I haven't seen in years so while I'm here, had to say how much we miss you. Isabella will be coming down in a week to spend a couple weeks here with family. We try to see her three times a year and talk to her when we can. She'll get to spend time with Lauri & family, Crystal & family, and some on the family from Ohio. Gary's girls are coming along in with Chris & Jessie so they'll get to meet Isabella. Love, Mom

David, Sounds silly that a t.v. show would stir up such grief feelings but since watching the Glee Tribute to Cory Monteith/Finn, the "mom" on the show hit it on the head with the feelings a parent feels when loosing a child, no matter what age. Once you were born, my purpose on life became being a mom and once you were taken that left an empty slot. Still have your sisters to be a mom to but loosing your first born takes a piece of your heart. Cried a lot and had to write this to you. Miss you always! Love, Mom

Stan's family up from Viginia. His brother is a pastor for youths. He is on the road 80% or more with his family. The family has from grown the original 6 to 12. This is including the grown children's wives and 1 son's 3 boys. They are truly amazing. They put on extreme light,sound and music shows. Always different. I am not overly religious but this would move almost anyone. I gave them pictures to look at of you and Isabella,Carrie and the whole family. Love You Dave and always in my heart!!

Eight days to your birthday - can't forget the annual countdown. Isabella was down to visit for a week in late August/early September. See some of you in her - that daring spirit, outgoing personality, trying authority at times, pouting like you would, and overall the energizer bunny. And when she gives that look out of the corner of her eye.... So sad that you are not here to see her grow up. Although you would probably pick on her because she is such a girly girl and loves her princesses (kinda like Lauri when she was little). Your sisters, Kathy & Bill, all the Esterlys, and your frinds from here are all still looking out for her and spoiling her. We will all continue to do that to help Carrie raise her from a distance. It's been awhile since I wrote. Carrie & Isabella were down for Crystal's wedding. You would have crapped seeing your little girl shaking her bootie on the dance floor! We know you were with us all in spirit. A co-worker at AAA lost her son-in-law to an accident in Afghanistan and it brings back all the memories of the tragedy of your accident. Another baby and baby-to-be left without a daddy. Still sad after 3-1/2 years. Love, Mom
