Joanne Morse Obituary

SHERBORN JoAnne Murray Morse, of Sherborn and Metis-sur-Mer, Quebec, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2008, after fighting hard against a long illness. JoAnne was born in Chicago. Her parents were the late Gordon L. and Betty Lou Murray. While in high school, she moved to Bronxville, N.Y., where she met and dated her future husband Bart Morse. Latter, she transferred from Northwestern University in Illinois to Wilson College in Pennsylvania to be closer to Bart. They were married in 1970, lived in Needham for 12 years and moved to Sherborn in 1987. JoAnne was a systems analyst and programmer for many years and then retired to devote her time, talents and love to her husband, home, family and community. She and her husband spent parts of the last 33 summers at their summer home at Metis-sur-Mer, Quebec. JoAnne is survived by her husband Bart; her brother Gordon Murray and his wife, Sue; her sisterin-law, Joan Eaton; her cousin, John Murray and his wife, Rose; three nieces; one nephew; two great nephews and two god children. A memorial service will be held at the Pilgrim Church, 25 Main St., Sherborn, on Sunday, June 29, at 1 p.m. The Reverend John Hudson will officiate. Private interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Sherborn. There will be no funeral home calling hours. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Pilgrim Church Endowment Fund or the Sherborn Lions Club. Arrangements are by the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common (www.everettfuneral.com).
