Marilyn Marcotte Obituary

MIDDLEBOROUGH Marilyn A. (Norton) Marcotte, 62, of Middleborough, formerly of Holliston, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008. Born in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (McGregor) Norton. She was the wife of Camilleo E. Marcotte who passed away January 2005. A resident of Middleborough for the past four years, she did volunteer work at the Council on Aging and was involved in the Womens Club in Middleborough. She is survived by two sisters, Janice Gilmartin and her husband, Richard, of Middleborough, and Carole Curnyn and her husband, Michael, of Holliston; two brothers, Jack Norton and his wife, Deborah, of Middleborough, and Steve Norton of Uxbridge. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to a funeral home service at 10:30 a.m., at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston (www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com), 854 Washington St., (Rte. 16). Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Middleborough Senior Center, 588 Plymouth St., Middleborough, MA 02346.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Mel's passing. We always had some good laughs together at the Curnyn's annual Christmas party or anywhere we ran into each other. She was a joy to be around, and I pray that you take some comfort in the happy memories.
