Rose Robideau Obituary

MARLBOROUGH Rose S. (Gage) Robideau, 79, of Marlborough, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at her home after a long illness. She was the wife of James W. Robideau, who died in 2005. She was born in Waltham and raised in Weston, the daughter of George and Vassa (Miles) Gage. Rose, a graduate of Weston High School, was a payroll clerk for Tommys Taxi in Framingham for many years before retiring in 1990. She previously worked in the payroll department of Frye Boot for many years. Rose enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening, swimming, shopping, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves a son, Richard P. Place of Clinton; five daughters, Phyllis A. Bowser of Marlborough, Bette J. Britton of Paris, Maine, Sandra L. Place of Marlborough, Brenda J. Choiniere of Nevada, and Pattie S. Osgood of Marlborough; a sister, Marion Wright of New Hampshire; 15 grandsons; five granddaughters, and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, William G. Place and Clay R. Place, and her daughter, Elaine R. Bonneau, formerly of Falmouth. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m., in the Lincoln Chapel of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home (www.SFCFH.com), 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
