Leo F. Fantini

Leo F. Fantini MILFORD Leo F. Fantini, 89, died Sunday, Sept.14, 2008, in the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough. He was the husband of the late Rosanna M. (Graves) Fantini. Mr. Fantini had been employed at the former Draper Corp. in Hopedale for many years. Mr. Fantini was born July 2, 1919, in Milford, the son of the late Leonardo and Nicolina (Nuniciato) Fantini. He attended Milford schools. Mr. Fantini served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 1240th Service Command Service Unit from 1941 to 1945. Mr. Fantini enjoyed traveling, searching for antiques, Italian food, horseback riding, family and friends. Mr. Fantini is survived by three sons, Leo L. and his wife, Joan F. Fantini, of Milford, Robert A. and his wife, Laura J. Fantini, of Hopedale, and Paul W. and his wife, Deborah R. Fantini, of Vernon, Vt.; two sisters; Dora Beschi of Medway, and Nina Fitzpatrick of Milford; seven grandchildren, Robert Fantini of Rhode Island, Heather Fantini of Jupiter, Fla.., Joseph Fantini of Malden, Jason Fantini of Bellingham, Mary Cossey of Imperial, Mo., Abbi Normand and Erin Papuga, both of Milford; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers; Frank Fantini and Ralph Fantini, and two sisters; Ester Bogus and Viola Mullaney. Funeral services with full military honors will be held Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 9 a.m., from the Buma Sargeant Funeral Home (www.bumafuneralhome.com), 42 Congress St., Milford, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m., in the Sacred Heart Church, 7 East Main St., Milford. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medway Road (Rte. 109), Milford. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
