Robert Gentilotti

MENDON Mr. Robert V. Robbie Gentilotti, 59, of Mendon, died Thursday evening, Sept. 18, 2008, at home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of 15 years, Glenda D. (Lightfoot) Gentilotti. Mr. Gentilotti was born and raised in Milford, the son of the late Salvatore Gentilotti and the son of Blanche P. (Daniels) Gentilotti, a resident of Hopedale. He had been a resident of Milford for most of his life, moving to Mendon 19 years ago. Mr. Gentilotti was a graduate of Milford High School, class of 1966, and went on to serve with the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971. He was a self-employed electrician who ran his own business until 2002. Mr. Gentilotti was an avid golfer and had been an active member in various Milford area golf leagues, including the former Twi-Light League at Milford Country Club; the Saturday Morning League at Juniper Hill Country Club and had also been a member of Maplegate Country Club. He enjoyed spending vacation time with his wife on various cruise ships and also enjoyed spending his leisure time with his many friends. He was also a member of the Italian-American Veterans Post of Milford. Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Jeffery Gentilotti and his wife, Patricia, of Norwell; Kelly Leedberg and her husband, David, of Groton; his grandsons, whom he adored, Derek and Ryan Leedberg of Groton and Luke Gentilotti of Norwell; three brothers, James Gentilotti and his wife, Loretta, of Mendon, Paul Gentilotti and his wife, Linda, of Grafton, and Gerald Gentilotti and his wife, Diane, of Upton; one sister, Linda Tocci of Las Vegas, Nev.; one uncle, two aunts and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His funeral, with military honors, will be held Monday, Sept. 22, at 9 a.m., from Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford (www.edwardsmemorialfuneralhome.com), followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, upper church, 7 East Main St., Milford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Milford.
