Antonio DiPietro Obituary

MILFORD Antonio C. Tony DiPietro, 84, of Milford, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, in the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, surrounded by his family and friends. He is the husband of Nancy J. (DeIeso) DiPietro of 62 years. He was born in Milford, son of the late Charles and Cecelia (Costanza) DiPietro, and was a lifelong Milford resident. He was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1942. He was a World War II Army veteran, and served in Company 43rd Division and the 1st Cavalry Division. He received the Good Conduct and Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Philippine ribbons with a Bronze Service Star and Victory Medal. He owned and operated DiPietros Hardware Store for many years, retiring in 1989. Previously, he was employed at the Draper Corp. in Hopedale. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Medway, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, American Legion, Milford Italian American Veterans, and the Plains Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Susan Fontana of Hopedale; a daughter-in-law, Linda DiPietro of Worcester; a brother-in-law, Vincent and his wife, Frances DeIeso, of Milford; a sister-in-law, Gloria DeIeso of Milford; five grandchildren, Marc and his wife, Kim DiPietro, of Bellingham, Paul DiPietro of Milford, and Crista Fontana and Maria Fontana, both of Hopedale, two great-grandchildren, Anthony DiPietro and Gianna DiPietro, both of Bellingham, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was father of the late Anthony DiPietro; brother of the late Rose DiPietro, Joseph DiPietro and Angelo DiPietro, and brother-in-law to the late Carlo DeIeso, Josephine Vitali and Cleo Vitali. The funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, at 9 a.m., from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St., Milford. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Hi Nancy, sorry to hear about Toni. My Aunt Lola called. I remember many great conversations with Tony on the way to my fathers barbershop. Nancy you were both of great consolation and great friends to my parents especially after the deaths of my sisters. Thank you for all I remember well the many times the visits and the great cookies .Take care and please keep baking.
