Barbara Cimon Obituary

NEEDHAM Barbara Ann (Merrill) Cimon, 76, of Needham, died Oct. 12, 2008, at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing Home in Natick, following a long illness. She was born in Northwood, N.H., the daughter of Robert and Marion Merrill. She had lived in Needham since 1964. She was a longtime member of the Needham Congregational Church and sang in the church choir. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald R. Cimon of Needham; a daughter, Paula A Herendeen of Franklin; three sons, David G Cimon of Needham, Robert A Cimon of Jacksonville, Fla., and Alan J. Cimon of Woodville, Maine; nine grandchildren; a brother, John Merrill of Morristown, Tenn., and two sisters, Jean Stapleton of Concord, N.H., and Joyce Creighton of Strafford, N.H. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Perkins & Pollard Memorial Home, 60 Main St., Pittsfield, N.H. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m., in the Higher Ground Ministries Church, Route 126, Barnstead, N.H. The Rev. John Newman will officiate. Burial will follow in the South Barnstead Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimers Association, N.H. Chapter, 10 Ferry St., Suite 427B, Concord, NH 03301-5004.
