I only just found out about Nick's passing when I received a memorial notice from my high school class. I was in quite a few classes with Nick through high school. He was an incredibly nice person and I never heard anyone say a bad word about him. The thing I remember most is the great sense of humor that he had. I was glad to have a chance to see him at the last class reunion. Even though it has been months since his passing, I would like to send my condolences to his family. Nick has touched many lives and he will be missed.

Nick was a neighbor...friend and (good guy). Nick would do anything for anybody -he would Pet sit for us while we were on vacation; he helped us move a large piece of furniture into a house we were going to purchase, then helped us move it again..in the middle of the night because we changed our mind on the house. He always had a smile on his face, loved his family like no other. He touched our hearts and Jay and I are so sad to hear the news of a terrific human leaving this earth...we will see you again Nick. You are in a better place watching down on us all. To Christine and the kids...we miss you all and will always remember our great times on Lupine way.

To the entire Economou family,
Please accept my deeepest sympathies. My first memories of Nick included most of his family. I was playing baseball for the WMRC farm team and his dad was the coach and his brother John was also on the team. Mrs. Economou would come and cheer for all the kids, usually louder than our own parents. This continued through high school. Growing up, Nick's family was always important to him and as a man that was the case with Christine and the kids. Please take a little comfort from all these messages. Having lost my sister this summer, it helps to see this kind of support. It shows how much people cared about Nick and also everyone in his family. We've all gone our seperate ways, but I always heard when Nick was back in town. Nick touched a lot of people's lives. I feel lucky to have been able to call him a friend. He will be missed.

I went to middle school and high school with Nick. He was a heck of a nice guy, and from what he told me in later years, a very happy family man. He found me on the internet a year or so ago and we talked about where our lives had taken us.
Nick seemed happy in life, and in career, but it was in talking of the love he had for his wife and children that I really saw how content he was. It was nice to know that the path of Nick's life had led him to such a joyous place. He was someone who deserved it.
As many have said, Nick was indeed one of those guys who could be friends with anyone. In high school, I was the artist and he was the jock but I never got the sense that Nick saw people as anything other than who they were, and he appreciated the talents and differences of others.
I was never close, close friends with Nick but as with all small towns, and with many years in school together, you can't help but get to know someone. We graduated, became adults, and decades passed, and then you see a familiar name in your email inbox. I was glad he had written.
You look back to those school years and realize that a hometown, a small town, makes us all family. Hearing of this tragic loss, I couldn't help but cry. Having lost a wife to cancer when she was 26, I felt so awful for Nick's wife and children, who he loved so much - and who must have loved him.
I didn't know Nick well as an adult but I knew he was a happy man, and probably died with that love in his heart. With so much drama in life, that's the most one could hope for.
My thoughts go out to Nick's family and children. Your dad was a good man, and he told me he loved you more than anything. The world is a sadder place because he is gone, but a brighter place because he was here.

Wow....What a devestating loss....I knew Nick through Middle and High School...We were in Scouts together earlier on......We played hockey, we played baseball, etc...He never had a negative thing to say about anyone and I think that's what I liked about him most..I remember when he quarterbacked the MHS football team - wow, what poise, what composure...Never seemed stressed or worried...ALways had everything under control....I had moved to Milford from NJ during 5th grade, and Nick took me in and introduced me to everyone and made feel like "part of the gang"....I always knew that he would be successful at whatever he did and that he'd have more friends than most of us could count! Although we never kept in touch after high school, I still feel this as a very deep loss, as There are some incredible memories from those years in Milford. My deepest sympathy to his parents, siblings, wife and children. He will always be remembered and never forgotten!

Nick was such a kind and generous person, who always saw the best in everybody. We will always remember his sense of humor and what an extra effort he made to keep in touch when he was in Milford. He and my husband, Shawn, even formed an unlikely friendship in recent years and we will cherish our memories of him for the rest of our lives. Our prayers are with the Economou family. God Bless You, Nick.

Jack and I want to add our condolences to the Economou family. Nick was a friend of our son Kevin. Through Nick we became friendly with Lee and Wanda and came to admire and respect them. Our hearts and prayers go out to them and their family and we grieve with them.

Dear Economou family,
I want to express my sincere condolences to you at this time. It is tuesday morning and I'm in my classroom alone. My students have just changed classes.Today's lesson was on "King Tut" and all I could do is think of Nick and how he loved to immitate Steve Martin and his "wild and crazy "antics. Your son and brother was always good friend to me. Nick had a unique quality, always genuine, always positive. He was one of a kind.
Nick was a terrific athlete and a leader on and off the field. In our recent conversations (usually via email) Nick would talk about his family and how proud he was of his kids. Many of us have moved away, but we still call Milford our hometown. My family's thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
I am dedicating my upcoming basketball season to my good friend and teammate. Nick, You will be forever in our hearts.

Dear Wanda, Leon, Elaine, Kathy, John and family,
I remember how often and how foundly you always spoke of Nick in those early years, when the girls took their dance class with me, and often talked about their brother Nick.
Elaine and Kathy were proud of their brother, and I always appreciated how close you all were as a family, and how you supported each other from school, to sports to dance or just plain old"Family togetherness."
You were wonderful friends to me and my prayers are for you to
find comfort in your memories of all the joy Nick brought to all of you. Though I did not know you Christine, my sympathy goes out to you and your children. To lose your young husband so suddenly is a tragedy.
To Wanda and Leon:
Although we lost touch over the years, I will never forget the wonderful "Economou Family" and wish I could be there to personally express my sympathy.
God will get you through this hard time.
Elaine and Kathy, please contact me. I need to express my sympathy to my girls!!
God bless and know you are in my prayers.

Words can't express the sorrow my family and I have at learning of the passing of Nick. He was a great man, father, husband and a cherished friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with Christine, Sam, Casey, Abigail and the entire Economou family at this devasting time. Some of my most precious memories are of Nick, Vinny and me in the backfield playing for Milford High in the fall of '81. I'll never forget the times we had on and off the football field, or the last time we spent time together last November. He was a true friend and will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.
