Brenda Killian Obituary

Brenda Killian, 59, of Sherwood Drive, Morganton, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, following a period of declining health. She was born on Dec. 2, 1949, in Burke County, and was the daughter of John Henry Farr of Burke County and the late Helen Elizabeth Farr. Mrs. Killian was a teacher with the Caldwell County Schools and had worked with special needs children for 29 years. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Angela "Angie" Brown and her husband, Bobby; and by grandchildren, Tyler and Cassidy Brown, all of Morganton. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Farr. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Clarence Correll and Roger Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics North Carolina Caldwell County, 27 Forest Hill Ct., Granite Falls, NC 28630 or to Hibriten High School Life Skills Class, 1350 Panther Trail, Lenoir, NC 28645. I wish to express my heartfelt sympathy in your time of great sorrow. Only those who have lost a loved one can know the depth of your feelings. I have experienced the death of my parents, a child and my grandparents. I know how difficult these times can be for those left behind.
