Edward Sox Obituary

Edward E. Sox, 74 OCEANSIDE -- Edward E. Sox passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010. He was born March 14, 1936 in Portland, Oregon, the son of Edward Sox, Sr., and Nancy Mae Sox. Ed received a Bachelors of Science degree and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. He became an Electrical Engineer and Vice- President of California Microwave in San Jose, Calif. Ed was a member of the Rotary Club and the Ocean Hills Portofino Board. He enjoyed biking, skiing, reading, hiking, back-packing and traveling. His favorite pastime was being with his family. He was a gentleman-intelligent, kind, and patient, who enjoyed helping young people learn. Ed was preceded in death by his mother and father; and his brother, Carl L. Sox. He is survived by his wife, Jo; daughter, Lisa Mae Smith of Vista; son, Stephen Edward Sox of La Canada, Calif.; son-in-law, Mark A. Smith of Vista; daughter-in-law, Diane Sox; and two grandsons, Matthew and Ethan Sox, both of La Canada. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 31, at the Clubhouse at Ocean Hills Country Club, Oceanside. Burial will be held at sea.
